A Special Education Paraprofessional at Centerview Elementary School, helping primarily support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in grades K-4.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…

under the supervision of a licensed Special Education staff, implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), customized and personalized for students;
having the ability and passion to work with students with disabilities;
working comfortably with students in individual, small group, and large group environments, in both general and special education settings;
working effectively with an interdisciplinary team, while having the ability to work independently;
working with school staff to provide support to students, in collaboration with teachers; and
participating in, and providing information for, team meetings related to student success and next actions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1.   Provide and deliver classroom instruction to students in Spanish immersion school incorporating the essential elements of instruction.

2.   Plan and develop instructional materials, lessons, plans and other support activities to present approved district curriculum to students in Spanish in accordance with district goals and objectives.

3.   Determine needs and abilities of students, and determine methods and techniques to best present and provide instruction to students within assigned subject areas.

4.   Evaluate student performance against learning objectives; develop tests and materials to assess student learning and performance.

5.   Conduct parent teacher conferences to discuss student progress, problems, strengths, concerns or other pertinent issues of the student, family and school.

6.   Establish and maintain student control and discipline in the classroom.

7.   Collaborate with other educational professionals and administrators regarding the needs of students, instructional needs, new instructional technologies or approaches to student problems, learning or curriculum.

8.   Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

The Academic Specialist will be a leader within the student support team at Woodcrest Spanish Immersion School, providing support to students and staff.  This person will provide high quality interventions within our Math and Reading System of Intervention that are specific, measurable, attainable, results bound, and time driven.  This person, with their expertise and knowledge, will have the ability to work within a professional learning community to support and align the work of adults to improve personalized instruction.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…creating and delivering ability and age appropriate lessons in a setting 3 classroom;
leading a team of paraprofessionals in meeting students’ needs;
communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
collaborating with principals, special education coordinator and staff, and professional learning communities, to ensure student needs are being met;
maintain student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;
acting as a Case Manager for students in your classroom and participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
perform other related duties, as assigned.

Experience:

Desired previous experience/knowledge includes…successfully working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and a strong desire to do so;
writing solid Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
applying current trends in the field of behavior interventions and support;
utilizing standardized assessment tools;
effectively collaborating with a team; and
constructively communicating with parent/guardian and team members.

Head Coach, Varsity Boys Hockey #4160

Duties:  Oversee all aspects of the Spring Lake Park High School boy’s hockey program including but not limited to setting up practices, games, and schedules for the program; supervision of athletes at practices and games.; care and maintenance of program equipment; arranging team transportation; willingness to work in collaboration with the Spring Lake Park Youth Hockey Association, with booster club and regular meetings with other coaches to evaluate goals of the overall program.  Must be able to adjust work schedule for practices and games.
