Position Overview:
1.0 FTE Special Education teaching position to work with students with disabilities at Park Terrace Elementary School in grades K-4, specifically teaching social skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…develop and provide direct social, emotional, and behavior instruction;
conduct formative assessments and monitor progress to guide instructional planning;
conduct social, emotional, and behavioral assessments as part of triannual special education evaluations;
consult and partner with general and special education staff;
maintain student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;
participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
perform other related duties, as assigned.
Experience:
Desired previous experience/knowledge includes…successfully working with students struggling with behavior management;
developing and providing direct social, emotional and behavioral instruction;
applying current trends in the field of behavior interventions and support;
implementing strategies for improving social skills;
utilizing standardized assessment tools;
effectively collaborating with a team;
constructively communicating with parent/guardian and team members; and
