Teacher, Preschool/ECFE

POSITION: Part-time Preschool/ECFE Teacher. Position will work approximately 20 hours per week.

SUMMARY: The ideal candidate must be able to develop, implement, and instruct developmentally appropriate learning experiences and curriculum for preschool children.  The candidate must demonstrate a warm and welcoming rapport with children and parents, have knowledge of child development, communicate effectively and professionally, and maintain confidentiality.

SALARY: Per Teacher Contract, under ECFE and Preschool Teacher

REPORTS TO: Community Education Director and Early Childhood Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a CDA degree in early childhood education
  • Prefer a license in early childhood
  • Have the ability and skills to relate to young children
  • Prior experience working with young children preferred

Director of Teaching and Learning

SUMMARY: Provide complex professional work planning and coordinating the execution of curriculum, coordinating testing programs and special projects, coordinating professional staff development and training, train and support classroom teachers, administrators, and other staff in the use of technology to supplement and enhance student learning.

SALARY: Per Director of Teaching and Learning Contract

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s or advanced degree with a minimum of ten years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
  • Master’s or advanced degree in Teaching and Learning, Leadership, Curriculum or other related field
  • Prefer administrative license
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and selection of appropriate instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to disseminate state, local, and national testing programs, procedures, guidelines, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of staff development programs, strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and present ideas effectively, orally and in written form in an effective and timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of technology and its uses.
  • Ability to recommend training or development opportunities.
  • Writing skills necessary to complete state and national reports related to curriculum and assessment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, subordinates, supervisors, the School Board and general public.

Jordan Public Schools cordially invites teacher candidates to the 1st Annual Jordan New Teacher Symposium to be held on Sunday, April 7th from 4:30 PM – 7:15 PM. Our goal is to provide new teacher candidates with an opportunity to gain skills necessary to be successful in a job search. Candidates will gain knowledge regarding the application process, interview skills, and the post hiring process. In addition, attendees will have the ability to network with Jordan School District Administrators and Teachers.

Overview of evening:

4:30 PM – Tour of District buildings, facilities, and grounds

5:30 PM – Dinner provided

6:00 PM – Workshop/Program

Life Sciences Teacher – (Licensed Staff 1.0 FTE, Grades 9 – 12)

Position Responsibilities

  • Teach the approved curriculum of the school and appropriate content standards of the State of Minnesota.
  • Knowledgeable in subject matter, classroom management techniques, current research-based best practices and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and emotional.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop, plan and implement best practices based on the needs and abilities of the students.
  • Acquire an understanding of the school’s improvement plan and goals, particularly for student achievement. Work to support and achieve those goals.
  • Participate in ongoing and regular staff, team, and individual professional development. Be open and responsive to feedback to improve teaching and increase student learning.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
