Supervision Paraeducator

Description:
Paraprofessional, Cafeteria and Playground Supervision a Jackson Elementary, Monday through Friday 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Job Summary:
Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch and on the playground with an emphasis on providing a safe environment. Successful applicant will be able to create positive relationships with students, enjoy interacting with elementary age students, while holding them accountable for positive, respectful, and safe behavior. Must work collaboratively with other adult supervisors in the cafeteria and playground. Duties include supervision of students and helping to maintain a clean cafeteria (wiping off tables, cleaning up spills, etc),

Qualifications:
Position requires a High School diploma or GED.
Previous experience with children preferred.

Cafeteria and playground

Work under the direction of special educators to reinforce instructional strategies, provide behavior support, and assist with personal care  in all school environments. Work as a team member to implement IEP based instructional goals and adaptations including assistive technology. Collect student data and third party billing record documentation. Promote inclusion and self sufficiency of students in the school community.

Qualifications:  Must meet highly qualified standards as defined by the state; completion of AA degree, 60 college level credits or completion of para-pro exam. Completion of a pre-employment physical is also required.
