Paraprofessional- Early Childhood – School Readiness Preschool Paraprofessional
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assist in the Early Childhood Program and specifically School Readiness Preschool full-day classroom. Applicants should demonstrate a love for working in early childhood, passion for serving early childhood students and families, and ability to communicate with parents and fellow staff members.
Job Description:
– Assist in planning and directing classroom activities based on specific instructions from the classroom teacher and program coordinator
– Monitor student behavior in accordance with school district policies and program procedures
– Perform routine classroom and clerical duties related to the job assignment
– Maintain informational and operational records, such as class attendance
– Monitor and maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment
– Supervision of students in/outdoors
– Attend staff/district trainings and meetings as needed
– Perform other duties as assigned
Location: Early Childhood; 1 to 1 Early Childhood Para for 2018-19
Paid Work Hours: 6.5 hours/day; 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Days/Year (includes 7 holidays): 179
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma
– Experience in the supervision of children, preferably early childhood
– Demonstrates successful skills in organization, verbal and written communication, and working with children and families of diverse backgrounds
– Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
Preferred
– Experience in special education and/or working with high-needs students
– Knowledge of the school district

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervision of students indoors and/or out of doors, tutoring students under the direct supervision of a teacher, general classroom clerical support, assisting students with hygiene needs, facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention, physically transferring students and assisting in ACE instructional job responsibilities. Jobs now available are (NOTE: the days/year are the usual, total annual days. Jobs starting after the beginning of the school year are prorated for the remainder of the school year):
Location: Pines School; Multi Categorical (LD, EBD) Special Education Para for 2018-19
Paid Work Hours: 7 hours/day; 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM
Days/Year (includes 7 holidays): 179
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. WAGES: As per the current paraprofessional master agreement.
