Position Description:
Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking a Special Education teacher with the ability, skills, and training necessary to work with a broad array of students with disabilities in a cross-categorical model, such that they can receive an appropriate education program in their neighborhood school.
Qualifications:
Special Education Licensure required for working with students in Federal Setting 1-3.
Multiple licensure preferred.
ASD Preferred
Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring special education services.
Experience and willingness to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers is required.
Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and to effectively direct the work delegated to them.
Interest in and ability to relate well to elementary students.
Experience with evaluation and eligibility determination for special education services preferred.

Building and Grounds Manager
Description:
Full-time, year round Building and Grounds Manger.
$82,000 to $92,000. Dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Job Summary:
Administer all building/grounds programs. Implement day to day operations of the Building and Grounds Department for the district including: working directly with building administrators to direct and evaluate building custodians, and direct and evaluate other maintenance, grounds and other buildings and grounds staff; inspect and maintain buildings and equipment; ensure district compliance with federal, state and local safety rules and regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Custodial Management and Oversight:
Schedule, assign and evaluate work of all Building and Grounds employees; work directly with District administration and cabinet members regarding supervision and evaluation of building custodial personnel.
Screen applications, check references, interview and make hiring recommendations for all custodial personnel.
Provide instruction and training to lead custodians and other appropriate staff regarding techniques and procedures necessary for efficient plant operations and maintenance of all equipment and mechanical systems.
Provide instruction and training to appropriate staff on techniques and procedures necessary to implement and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program.
Determine work priorities, plans, and organizational structure and functions for positions within Buildings and Grounds.
Coordinate the district mail and food delivery requirements.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Conduct/coordinate all periodic and tri-annual inspections in accordance with AHERA requirements and review and update District AHERA management plan as required.
Conduct/coordinate air monitoring as required to meet IAQ guidelines.
Conduct training for departmental employees including; Right-To-Know, Asbestos awareness, Blood Borne Pathogens, Confined Space, Lock Out/Tag Out etc.
Monitor and administer the accrual and disposal of hazardous waste within the District.
Develop, submit, monitor & amend all long term facility maintenance plans & budgets with MDE.
Capital Planning & On-Going Maintenance:
Coordinate the maintenance and repair of all equipment and buildings and assign, direct, review and respond to repair work orders.
Plan, develop & monitor budgets for short & long range capital needs.
Assist with the development & updating of long rang facility plans.
Write and prepare specifications for outside contracted services.
Formulates and establishes procedures and preventative maintenance schedules and programs.
Determine, coordinate, and monitor district-wide maintenance needs, requirements, and priorities..
Monitors building projects and maintenance schedules.
Grounds Management:
Oversee and pro-actively manage all grounds and activity fields maintenance and care.
Coordinate seasonal operations for the district; including grounds maintenance, snow removal.
Other:
Serve as chair the district safety committee.
Meet with district administrators to clearly evaluate and plan for assessed needs, projects and priorities within each building.
Serve as primary interface for all energy and utility tracking and monitoring efforts.
Serve as primary interface for District’s automated facility management system including technical asset layers, emergency preparedness, and automated work order systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
AA Degree in Related Field, or comparable training in the Building/Trades areas such as HVAC.
Chief ‘C’ Boiler’s license preferred.
Previous supervisory and/or management experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated knowledge of the basic principles of construction, maintenance, and management.
Experience in computer operations relating to Building Automation Systems, preventive maintenance programs, email and the programs in Microsoft Office preferred.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees at all levels in the organization as well as with people outside the organization. Proven ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to learn, apply, explain and enforce policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the district to department employees and constituents.
Working Conditions:
General office working conditions, primarily sitting, using close vision and talking; frequently using keyboard to input information into computer, reaching with arms and hands; occasionally presenting information to individuals or small groups and lifting up to 50 pounds.
