Qualifications:

*Work experience and/or training in restorative justice and conflict resolution is preferred
*Direct experience working with at-risk students and families
*Strong communication skills working with teachers and families
*Knowledge of community resources and experience with nonprofit organizations is desired
*Training in facilitation of student support and/or leadership groups

Gymnastics Instructor Job Description

RESPONSIBLE TO: Gymnastics Coordinator

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 Good leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team

 Good interpersonal skills – Ability to communicate effectively with gymnasts, parents and other members of staff

 Ability to understand the learning process and training principles

 Ability to motivate and assist gymnasts to develop new skills safely

 Knowledge of injury prevention – understanding how to reduce the risk of injury to gymnasts

 Good time management skills and punctuality

ROLE PURPOSE:

To deliver the recreational program to a high standard

MAIN TASKS:

1. Explain and demonstrate age appropriate gymnastics skills.

2. Observe and assist participants in acquiring new skills

3. To provide positive and fun sessions.

4. Welcome all participants and help to create a positive, welcoming environment.

5. To act as a positive role model and lead by example. Demonstrate good coaching practice and provide motivation to all coaches and gymnasts.

6. Ensure that you abide by the gym rules at all times. Take the necessary action if there is a breach of the rules and notify the coordinator at the earliest possible opportunity.

7. To have a responsibility for the safeguarding and protection of participants

8. Carry out suggested lesson plans and follow a logical sequential order of skill instruction.

9. Work cooperatively with other members of the team.

10. Complete time sheets and turn in by payroll deadlines.

11. Assist the program by covering shifts when you are available
