Early Childhood Behavior Specialist

The Stillwater Area School District is looking for an Early Childhood Behavior Specialist. The Early Childhood Behavior Specialist will assist certificated teachers in providing behavioral support and instruction for short periods of time and monitor and collect data on behaviors.  This position is also responsible for providing safe, developmentally appropriate learning/ enrichment strategies to certified teachers, assist in managing student behavior, serve as a positive role model and be a supportive adult in the preschool classrooms.

This position is 20 hours per week Monday through Thursday.

Aurora Charter School is an English/Spanish charter school serving primarily Latino students in the Minneapolis area. We are currently seeking two Special Education teachers​ for the 2018-2019 school year​ to better serve our growing Special Education population.

Responsibilities:
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
– Provide Special Education instruction for individual students, small groups, and classroom support; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
– Develop and implement innovative methods for providing instruction to students.
– Develop and maintain student IEPs; conduct IEP meetings; contact parents regarding student progress and meetings.
– Evaluate student performance in accordance with system used by school and/or District; promote student achievement; maintain required student records; make related reports to the administration as prescribed or authorized by the director.
– Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the academic development of the student; participate in parent-teacher conferences.
– Perform classroom management duties; enforce rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students when necessary.
– Continue to seek professional growth and development in the curriculum areas for which employed; attend professional development required by the District.
– Contribute to the District’s inclusive workplace efforts by fostering a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.
– Perform other related duties as assigned.
