Special Ed Paraprofessional

Job Description

Twin Cities Academy High School is seeking a full time (1.0 FTE) program paraprofessional for the 2018-2019 school year. The paraprofessional will be working as a classroom paraprofessional, working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Learning Disabilities, or Other Health Disabilities. This position will be a salaried position with benefits.

 

Qualifications

Required: Minimum of high school degree required; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

 

Preferred: At least 2 years of post-secondary education completed; background in working with Emotional Behavior Disorders,  related experience or training in providing assistance to students; substitute license

Learning Support Teacher

Mounds Park Academy seeks a part-time Lower School Learning Support Teacher for the 2018–2019 school year.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide direct academic support to students with unique learning needs and collaborate with teachers to provide these services.

 

It is expected that a successful candidate would:

 

Develop individualized lessons and provide direct instruction to students in math utilizing Singapore Math strategies
Develop individualized lessons and provide direct instruction for students experiencing reading and writing difficulties
Collaborate with classroom teachers on instructional strategies
Utilize appropriate teaching strategies to support exceptional learners
Attend and contribute to student support meetings as needed
Assist classroom teachers in administration and scoring of reading assessments
Other duties as assigned
