Student Management Specialist – Park Center Senior High

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by coordinating, under the direction of the Assistant Principal, the activities, procedures, and supervision in general, of secondary students.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assists principal in the overall administration of the school;
Performs as a resource for teachers and staff who express concerns for student attendance, student development and/or discipline;
Coordinates efforts with counselors, police liaison officer(s), school psychologist, and/or social worker in meeting with students and parents to discuss improving student attendance, behavior and academic performance;
Consults with families via conference or communication systems concerning student attendance, behavior and academic performance;
Resolves student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner and maintains records of disciplinary or referral actions taken;
Closely monitors the physical plant of the schools and grounds and follows-up on student vandalism;
Assists in the interpretation of school district programs relating to student substance abuse and truancy;
Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules effecting student behavior;
Assists in discussing strategies to improve student performance, attendance and development;
Assists in developing and administering practices dealing with campus control and security;
Maintains active relationships with parents, families and students;
Assists in establishing rules governing students sent to the in-school suspension/detention room;
Responds to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters;
Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the principal;
Assumes responsibility when all administrators are out of the building;
Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the principal may assign.

Work schedule: Contract length 200 days

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every student with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning through technical services that support accessible, equitable, and user-friendly systems to support all users to effectively and efficiently achieve the district mission.  This position provides specialized clerical and technical duties for the Department of Instructional Systems as well as related responsibilities requiring creative solutions to specialized site/department needs. Answer correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information. Interact with a diverse group of external customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in department practices or procedures.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Track fees and process payments in the district fee management system, including creating and mailing invoices to families for fees relating to 1to1 devices, monitoring the balance of unpaid fees and providing reports of the balance as needed, and monitoring the consistency of fee naming for all fees.
Work with TSS I to issue fees from 1to1 repairs by contacting families regarding repair costs and following up with communications for unpaid fees.
Maintain contact with Authorized Service Provider, including maintaining contracts, ordering supplies, maintaining product part inventory of parts, and replenishing parts as necessary.
Maintain vendor warranty repairs; including creating repair requests, printing shipping labels, tracking warranty repairs, and shipping/receiving items.
Respond to requests to provide mobile devices and supplies including during collection and deployment by maintaining orders of supplies to ensure fulfillment as needed.
Provide device deployment and collection support by securing deployment/collection permits, scheduling planning meetings for individual sites, and scheduling shipping schedules for device delivery and/or pick up.
Work collaboratively with AESP in District-Wide Technology Support for shipment of supplies and equipment to sites.
Support Division of I2T2, as needed
Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:

High school diploma or GED.
Understanding of data entry concepts.
Knowledge of spreadsheet and database management software and word processing skills.
Fundamentals of general office and general administrative procedures and operation requirements.
Understanding of office equipment and typical productivity software, databases or customized systems/applications.
Knowledge of basic record retention, and record/file/database maintenance requirements.
Understanding of data privacy requirements, laws, and rules as it pertains to job assignments.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

The attributes of an efficacious learner: resourceful, self-directed, responsible, problem-solver, and skilled communicator.
The ability to collaboratively solve problems.
The ability to work in an organized, efficient, and processed-oriented manner.
The ability to apply and follow record-keeping procedures and protocols to maintain and process data.

The ability to perform assigned functions with minimal direction in accordance with the established set of departmental operations.
Preferred qualifications include:

Experience working in a K-12 school setting
Proficiency in a language other than English (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese)

Work schedule: 8 hrs/day, 260/261 days per year
