Job Summary
To work in cooperation with the building principal, provide assistance for the operation and functions of the school.  Work directly with all staff, students, parents and district personnel.  In the absence of the building principal, assume the duties of the principal.

 

Grade 4 Teacher

Special Ed Teacher

Position Description:

Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking a Special Education teacher with the ability, skills, and training necessary to work with a broad array of students with disabilities in a cross-categorical model, such that they can receive an appropriate education program in their neighborhood school.

Qualifications:

Special Education Licensure required for working with students in Federal Setting 1-3.
Multiple licensure preferred.
ASD Preferred
Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring special education services.
Experience and willingness to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers is required.
Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and to effectively direct the work delegated to them.
Interest in and ability to relate well to elementary students.
Experience with evaluation and eligibility determination for special education services preferred.

Required Qualifications:
1. Must possess appropriate MN high school mathematics licensure (requires grade level 9-12)
2. Ability to establish and maintain high academic standards and a positive relationship with students
3. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
4. Demonstrated ability in classroom management and the use of data-driven instructional practices
5. An understanding of intercultural competency and the desire for continued professional growth in this area

Desired Qualifications:
1. Experience teaching high school students
2. Experience using formative assessment as a tool to continually direct teaching and learning
