School Information: Minnesota Transitions Charter School serves approximately 3000 students in grades K through 12. The school has six different locations and offers both seat-based and on-line programs.

Schools include: Banaadir Academy Banaadir South MTCS K-12 Charter School General Colin L. Powell Leadership Academy JrROTC Program P.E.A.S.E. Academy (Sober program) Minnesota Virtual High School MTS Connections K-12 Academy.

The Charter School employs 180 instructional and support staff members.

The Superintendent is supported by Building Directors/Principals and a District Administrative Cabinet.

In addition, Minnesota Transitions Charter School currently contracts finance/business operations, Transportation and Food Service through private vendors. The school is proud of small class sizes, great staff, and strong and supportive parents.

The school’s operating budget is approximately $34 million. North Lakes Academy is seeking applications for the 2018-19 school year for special education. Preferred candidates have appropriate licensure and experience with due process paperwork. NLA is a small charter school located in Forest Lake MN serving 20% SpEd student population in a supportive, innovative environment. We value capacity to perform tasks at a high level by limiting caseloads and duties so staff can serve students well.

NLA special education staff work with caseloads typically between 10-15 students, majority of which are federal setting 1 or 2.

The position will include: facilitate support groups, study strategies, time management/organization, new student group, and implement interventions for struggling students. Position would coordinate academic interventions between teachers and students. Counselor must exhibit ability to manage and track multiple students’ academic progress and needs, act as a liaison between EL department, teachers, Deans, and School Counselors. This position will require attention to detail, knowledge of googledocs, and the ability to collaborate with multiple staff in the building.
