Rock Ridge Public Schools is currently accepting applications for an Activities Director for the Eveleth-Gilbert Campuses for the 2021-2022 and 2022–2023 school years.

The Activities Director will be in charge of Athletics, Activities and Community Education for the Eveleth-Gilbert Campuses for Rock Ridge Public Schools (Eveleth, Gilbert, Virginia School District Consolidated to form Rock Ridge School District).

This is initially a two year contract then negotiated every two years after that.

The Head of School – Overview

The DECS Board of Education, members of the Duluth community and additional DECS stakeholders seek a new Head of School for Duluth Edison Charter Schools. This dynamic leader will report solely to the DECS Board of Directors and will drive the vision, strategy and daily operations of the school including its curriculum, culture, business affairs and community relations.

The Head of School will embrace the traditions and legacy of DECS while crafting and implementing a new vision and model for its future. The Head of School will lead a staff of administrators and educators by employing a human-centric approach to leadership, ensuring accountability across all areas of the organization while maintaining the DECS commitment to excellence.

The Head of School will understand continue to cultivate the intersection of the school’s culture, curriculum and the “business” of our school, utilizing a data-driven approach to decision-making while also relying on the expertise of a professional staff to help guide and implement strategy.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT:

The Cook County Schools’ main office is in Grand Marais, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 417 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE: The Cook County ISD 166 School Board seeks a superintendent who:

  • Effectively mediates and accommodates different perspectives; values teamwork

  • Has knowledge of and experience with special ed needs and/or a diverse student body
  • Is visible and accessible to the School Board, staff, students, parents, and community

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

SALARY/CONTRACT:  As the District transitions from a part-time superintendent model to a position of increased F.T.E., the Board will negotiate a competitive compensation package with the successful candidate commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
