General Definition of Work
Performs complex executive and administrative work assisting with the direction of programs, operations, activities and facilities of the White Bear Lake Public School District, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the Superintendent. Organizational supervision is exercised over all personnel under the supervision of building principals and cultural liaisons.
Interim Superintendent
The Carlton School District’s main office is in Carlton, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 425 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.
The Carlton School Board seeks an experienced superintendent who: has prior experience with school district bond referenda processes; has experience with school finance, facility planning, and managing transition; works cooperatively with the School Board and provides recommendations and options for School Board consideration; is an honest and ethical leader who develops trust and works collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders and understands the effects of poverty on student learning and achievement. Previous superintendent experience is required

Special Education Coordinator
Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative (NLSEC) is seeking a talented and motivated person to join our team as a 1.0 FTE Special Education Coordinator beginning in the 2020-21 School Year.
Summary:
A Special Education Coordinator assists districts to comply with federal and state special education
statues and regulations, works with staff to evaluate special education programs and services and
serves as a resource for information regarding special education programs and services. Significant
time is required for analyzing data, planning activities, monitoring programs/services, responding to
requests and consulting with program personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support to Special Education Staff
- Research, plan and coordinate training opportunities for administrators, parents, regular and special education teachers to assist in understanding the special education process.
- Collaborate and consult with district staff, parents, community organizations and public agencies to implement and maintain services in accordance with special education.
- Support/mentor new special education teachers in implementing required procedures to ensure compliance with special education rules.
- Prepare a variety of materials (i.e., data analyses, reports/recommendations, laws and regulations, newsletters, brochures) to document activities, make presentations, and/or provide supporting materials.
- Research information as requested to develop innovative programs/services, ensuring program compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Support to Special Education Staff
- Consult with the appropriate school personnel directly responsible for the implementation of the IEP/IIIP/IFSP.
- Facilitate meetings that involve a range of issues to include evaluating situations, identifying appropriate actions and developing recommendations.
- Assist teachers in long and short range planning and scheduling.
- Observe specific students/classrooms and make recommendations.
- Assist in coordinating, developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of IEP/IIIP/IFSPs.
Support to MDE
- Provide thorough and timely reports, data and information as requested.
Support to Colleagues, Students, Families and Community Agencies
- Respond to inquiries of Co-op staff, district personnel, professional organizations and agencies to provide information and/or directions related to special education.
- Respond to issues involving conflicts in policies/regulations, community concerns, and parental requests, and recommend a plan of action to help resolve the issue.
- Serve as a liaison to community services and agencies.
- Participate in state and regional meetings and committees as assigned.
