Technology Assistant

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under general supervision of the ISD 361 Technology Director, to perform a variety of duties involved in the operation and maintenance of a district wide technology and campus technology at an assigned school site; provide support and assistance to students and staff concerning the operation of computers and related peripheral equipment; troubleshoot and perform general maintenance and repairs to computer and peripheral equipment; and to do related work as required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A combination of the essential functions are shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but to accurately reflect the primary job elements. The position is not limited to the list below and may be modified based on the department needs.

 

• Oversees computer and technology operations throughout the district and assigned school site(s); prepares technology for school year opening.

• Provides assistance to staff, individuals or groups of students using computer equipment and software; answers questions; loads, restores, and restarts programs as needed; assists in utilizing computer equipment and instructional materials for projects and events including a computer network.

• Prepares equipment for student and staff use; installs software and observes elements of the computer for evidence of incorrect performance; confers with administrators and teachers to coordinate use of the technology.

• Operates, adjusts, and maintains a variety of computers and peripheral equipment; troubleshoots and performs general maintenance and repairs to computers and peripheral equipment; advises appropriate staff of needed repairs and maintains related records; periodically runs anti-virus programs.

• Communicates with director supervisor, other departments, staff, school administrators and the superintendent concerning the operation and maintenance of site computers and peripheral equipment. • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly technology department and all materials; stores and maintains inventory of equipment and materials.

• Participates in the computer network administration at the assigned site(s).

• Assists with site-wide implementation of state and federal student testing.

• Communicates and monitors Acceptable Use for Technology Policy (AUP) and utilize District computer and peripheral equipment for educational purposes only; reports AUP violations to administration.

• Maintains student records related to use of computers and peripheral equipment, reports student misuse of computers and peripheral equipment to administration.

• Cares for, supervises, controls, and protects students in a manner commensurate to assigned duties and responsibilities.

• Completes other reasonable duties as assigned. TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND

 

EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or the equivalent.

• College-level course work, certification or licensure in computer science or related fields is desirable.

• Experience in the operation of computers and peripheral equipment.

• Prior experience working in a public-school setting is preferred.

 

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance.

• CPR and first aid certification preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: The following outline of essential knowledge, abilities, and physical requirements is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary in accordance with the job.

• Work is performed while moving about to assist district needs, staff, and students for extended periods of time etc.

• Work is performed while in a stationary position to perform computer upkeep as needed.

• Work is performed while moving supplies weighing up to 20 pounds within the  district and across schools.

• May require traveling in a vehicle to job assignments.

Technology Director

ISD 361 Director of Technology

Job Description:

ISD 361 is seeking a Director of Technology to provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of technology across all school district buildings and departments. The Director of Technology will be responsible for planning, purchasing, installing and maintaining physical technology systems of the District in a condition of excellence enabling full educational use of technology at all times in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements. Ideal applicants are collaborative and someone who enjoys working in a progressive and fast paced environment. This technology leadership role is responsible, but not limited to, a range from strategic and long range planning and implementation of system­wide technology implementation and solutions, to providing one­ to ­one, and group training and support.   Experience working in the education field is important for understanding how technology supports educational outcomes, where technology funding sources can be accessed, and that a culture of collaboration and creativity can support success overall. ISD 361 has two educational campuses and additional facilities and grounds that support transportation, athletics and activities.  This job reports to the Superintendent and serves on the district senior leadership team.

Essential Functions of the Technology Director:

● Attends and facilitates various events (e.g. meetings, conferences, training sessions, district information sessions, Board Meetings, administrator events, etc.) for the purpose of communicating and/or gathering information required to perform the functions of the job and serve the district.

● Authorizes permissions and individual access to technology applications or services for the purpose of ensuring proper access to technology systems by staff, students, parents and others consistent with district operating guidelines and regulations.

● Communicates technology related activities, updates and changes, in a timely manner, to all stakeholders.

● Leads and directs the installation and maintenance of technology systems and tools (e.g. conversions, hardware, software, systems, wiring, specialized applications and tools) for the purpose of ensuring the safe, timely and efficient installation of technology equipment, programs and services.

● Maintains district technology equipment and systems (e.g. servers, telephone systems, intercoms, alarms, surveillance cameras, software applications, network, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that systems are functioning properly and effectively in support of district administrative, safety and educational operations.

● Manages procurement, inventory and surplus of technology equipment, systems and related services for the purpose of ensuring that all technology purchases for goods and/or services are consistent with the district’s technology objectives, and that equipment is properly inventoried, repaired or surplused consistent with local, district and state regulations.

● Monitors technology budget and expenditures for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate and expenses are within budget limits and that fiscal practices and Board of Education policies are followed.

● Oversees functioning of the technology operations of the district for the purpose of ensuring an effective, efficient and safe environment, where technology equipment and applications are utilized appropriately and efficiently to support routine administrative and educational functions of the district.

● Prepares a wide variety of documents, reports and materials (e.g. reports, policy and procedure documents, emails, memos, correspondence, budget, specifications, plans and drawings, analysis and test results, and cost estimates) for the purpose of providing necessary information to support district operations, including reporting internally and externally to the state or federal agencies, and other entities as required by district, state and/or federal regulations.

● Researches outside funding opportunities and grants for the purpose of providing additional funding to enhance technology within the district.

● Supervises assigned assistant technology staff (e.g. hiring recommendations, interviewing, training, evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting operational requirements.

● Supports the implementation of operational and educational technology initiatives (e.g. new systems, educational programs, hardware, etc.) for the purpose of assisting with delivery and implementation of initiatives, providing support and assistance to others, providing oversight of projects and/or training and providing information to others to ensure successful implementation.

● Tests technology applications, tools and programs for the purpose of assessing proposed products, programs or tools to provide feedback for the administrative decision processes, to ensure appropriate acquisition of educational and operational technology solutions and to assist others with these functions.

Desired Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate for this position (Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Management, Educational Technology or other equivalent disciplines), preferred.

● Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience in the development, installation and maintenance of information systems.

● Strong understanding and experience setting up, configuring, and managing network components. Not limited to managed switches, manage of multiple vlans on the network, manage an enterprise wireless network with multiple AP’s, manage network operating systems. ● Strong understanding and experience working with active directory, group policies, security groups, and network logon scripting.

● Setup and operational knowledge of Google, Windows 7, Microsoft Server. Linux server and Mac OS X experience/knowledge advantageous.

● Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ­ability to narrow down the cause of an issue and determine a solution.

● Demonstrated ability to communicate with and work well with all levels within an organization specifically working effectively within the culture and processes used in educational organizations.

● Highly organized with strong project management and time skills, and drive to meet organizational and departmental objectives; ability to manage projects on interrelated time lines.

● Knowledge of classroom technology including SmartBoards, clickers, document cameras, sound systems, projectors, cameras, etc. a strong plus.

● Knowledge of student data systems (i.e. Infinite Campus), a strong plus.

● Basic understanding of HTML and website development and maintenance required within a Google for Education Domain.

● Proven ability to negotiate and work with vendors and consultants.

● Proven ability to work effectively with parent, community and staff on various organization wide, and Technology Advisory Committees.

● Experience supervising and collaborating with staff.

● Ability to be flexible during the new construction and lead the technology decision making process.

● Ability to work in an ever-growing school district environment that is updating current best technological practices for school district systems of design, teaching and learning and educational delivery methods to serve today’s educational profession and learners.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a vast array of district staff.

Math and Reading Interventionists, 1.0 FTE (several positions available)

Interventionist Positions (Reading & Math)
Reports to: Building Principal
Position Type: Full-Time, School-Year
Location: Falls Elementary and/or Falls High School

Overview
ISD361 is seeking three dedicated Interventionists to support student achievement through targeted small-group instruction and collaboration with classroom teachers. These positions play a critical role in delivering Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports as part of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. The available roles are:
Reading Interventionist (Grades K–6)
Math Interventionist (Grades K–6)
Math Interventionist (Grades 7–12)

Applicants with a valid elementary teaching license are encouraged to apply. An out-of-field placement may be approved if needed

General Responsibilities (All Roles):
●     Provide targeted small-group or individual instruction in reading or math aligned to core curriculum and student needs

●     Use diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments to identify learning gaps and track student growth

●     Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support classroom-based interventions

●     Contribute to MTSS problem-solving teams and assist with intervention documentation

●     Participate in data analysis meetings to adjust intervention strategies and groupings

●     Communicate with families regarding student progress and support plans

●     Assist in administering universal screeners and district benchmarks

●     Maintain accurate instructional records and provide progress updates to staff and families

 

Position-Specific Duties:
Reading Interventionist (Grades K–6):
●     Deliver small-group reading instruction using research-based programs (e.g., phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension)

●     Support early literacy development in alignment with foundational reading standards

●     Collaborate with teachers to build effective classroom reading supports

●     Administer and interpret reading screeners (Fast Bridge)

 

Math Interventionist (Grades K–6):
●     Provide targeted math instruction focused on number sense, operations, problem-solving, and foundational math skills

●     Support classroom differentiation through modeling and co-teaching when appropriate

●     Use data to form flexible student groups and guide instruction aligned to grade-level standards

 

Math Interventionist (Grades 7–12):
●     Deliver small-group or individualized math instruction for students performing below grade level in core courses (e.g., Basic Skills, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry)

●     Partner with math teachers to identify struggling students and co-develop instructional plans

●     Use formative assessments to track skill gaps and provide targeted support aligned with high school standards
Support credit recovery, test prep, or math lab-based interventions as needed

 

Qualifications:
●     Valid Minnesota elementary teaching license or eligibility for out-of-field placement

●     Strong knowledge of content in reading and/or math appropriate to grade level

●     Experience or training in intervention programs, MTSS, or small-group instruction (preferred)

●     Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly

●     Strong collaboration and communication skills

Falls Elementary Student Support Specialist

Student Support Specialist

Location: Falls Elementary SchoolPosition Overview:
The Student Support Specialist serves as a key leader in building a positive school culture and supporting student success through a blended role that includes the responsibilities of a Behavior Interventionist and Attendance Liaison. This position focuses on proactive and restorative approaches to student behavior, early intervention, and removing barriers to learning. The ideal candidate is a trauma-informed educator with a deep commitment to equity, positive relationships, and multi-tiered systems of support.

Primary Responsibilities
●     Develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and support Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions within the MTSS framework

●     Help lead and support Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) implementation and schoolwide behavior expectations

●     Collaborate, coach and support staff in the area of classroom management and de-escalation strategies

●     Use data to monitor behavior trends and adjust supports to improve student engagement

●     Facilitate restorative conferences to resolve conflict and repair harm

●     Support and guide recess staff and student coaches in fostering positive play environments

●     Respond to behavior incidents with appropriate, restorative, and policy-aligned consequences

●     Communicate regularly with families about behavior, support plans, and student needs

●     Lead bullying prevention efforts and promote a safe, inclusive school climate

●     Collaborate with the MTSS Data Team to monitor student behavior, academics, and attendance

●     Maintain strong presence and supervision in hallways, lunch, recess, and dismissal areas

●     Track and support student attendance, addressing chronic absenteeism through family partnerships and data-informed interventions

●     Serve on the District Attendance Team and help coordinate individual attendance improvement plans

●     Work closely with teachers and office staff to support consistent attendance routines

Preferred Qualifications:
●     Valid elementary teaching license, social work license, psychology licensure, behavior specialist or licensed in a related field

●     Experience working in elementary education, especially with at-risk populations

●     Training or experience in trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, PBIS, and MTSS

●     Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with students, staff, and families

●     Knowledge of data collection and behavior progress monitoring

●     Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations

Working Conditions:

●     School-based role requiring regular interaction with students and staff

●     Frequent movement throughout the school building and outdoor supervision areas

●     Involves managing challenging behavior and supporting students in crisis
