POSITION OPENING PERMANENT SUPERINTENDENT POSITION AVAILABLE STARTING WITH THE 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 696 ELY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Ely School District (ISD 696), is seeking a .6 FTE Permanent Superintendent starting with the 2016-2017 school year. Position Description: The superintendent of schools is responsible for all functions related to providing leadership to the district. Specific functions include: act with honesty and in an ethical manner in dealing with the school board, staff and community; be familiar with the state and federal education laws; delegate authority while maintaining accountability; have a thorough knowledge of and successful experience in school district management practices; have a thorough knowledge of and successful experience in school finance; work cooperatively with the school board provide options and recommendations. Qualifications: Superintendent’s license; minimum of five (5) years prior superintendent experience preferred.
