The Underwood Public Schools’ main office is located in Underwood, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 635 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE: The Underwood School Board seeks a superintendent who:

  • Is a “people person” with proven abilities in human relations and communications
  • Is visible and accessible to the School Board, staff, students, parents, and community
  • Acts with honesty and in an ethical manner with the School Board, staff, and community
  • Develops and directs an effective leadership team
  • Has experience in school finance, and possesses sound fiscal management and budgeting skills
  • Works cooperatively with the School Board; provides options and recommendations

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

SALARY/CONTRACT:  A comprehensive compensation package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

HOMEBASED / HOMEBOUND TEACHER

Applications are being accepted for 1 full time position.  Applicants must be licensed as a teacher. The purpose of homebased / homebound instruction is to provide short-term alternative educational services to students who are unable to attend their regular in-school classes by keeping them on schedule so they can make a smooth transition back into their classes and the curriculum when they return to school.  Mileage is paid at the rate set by the IRS for travel to and from the student’s residence.

SALARY/CONTRACT:  The current superintendent’s base salary for the 2021-2022 school year is $151,000. The final salary will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.
