Position Summary:
Owatonna’s Early Childhood Family Education Program (ECFE) is seeking an early childhood educator to provide high quality early learning through delivery of evidence-based curriculum, instruction and assessment. This position has responsibilities to present weekly lessons designed to address identified needs of children using developmentally appropriate best practices within the MN/Owatonna Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. This position supports families, colleagues, and community partners with experiences and information designed to promote healthy parent/child interaction and child and family development. This position delivers early childhood learning experiences to children ages 0-48 months and their families. The primary learning environment is small groups of age-specific children with their parents. This assignment also includes 3 sections of a three-year-old-preschool class. This assignment includes two evenings per week from 5:15PM-7:00PM, and one Saturday morning per month. ECFE classes meet from September 9, 2019 through May 15, 2020 for a total of 30-weeks of programming. A copy of the program calendar and class schedule are available upon request.

The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be minimally licensed in ASD (and preferably one other area such as SLD) and will lead services for students with ASD across grade levels, with a focus on direct service provision at the elementary school, and targeted services at the secondary level. This will include training for paraprofessionals assigned to students and on-going teacher training activities.
The applicant should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
. behavior management and interventions for children with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD
. alternative curriculum and assistive technology for students with neuro-behavioral disabilities – specifically ASD
. social skills instruction, daily and independent living skills instruction
. IEP writing and conducting evaluations
. creating schedules, providing ongoing training and managing paraprofessionals

Interim Nutrition Services Coordinator
Position Summary:
Under the supervision and oversight of the Director of Nutrition Services, the Nutrition Services Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and providing production assistance of kitchen operations to ensure National School Lunch and Breakfast Program compliance with USDA regulations and maximum operational efficiency. The Nutrition Services Coordinator conducts technical and administrative duties in support of the district’s daily food service activities, such as menu planning and nutrient analysis, oversight and management of computerized inventory and ordering system, and management of students with special dietary needs.

Monroe Elementary School
A position is available for a part-time (0.75 FTEs) Reading and/or Mathematics Intervention Teacher at Monroe Elementary School for the 2019-20 school year. Teacher will be responsible for implementing intervention programs with students working on specific, targeted literacy skills. Important to this position will be the ongoing assessment of students who are receiving the additional literacy intervention as well as continuous collaboration with classroom teachers, special education staff, EL and the Literacy Coordinator. A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required; K-12 reading license preferred.

Corrections Teaching Assistant
The Minnesota Department of Corrections has an opening for a Teaching Assistant at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault. This position assists and provides support to offenders in literacy, library, and intake programs to meet education’s goals and objectives for Adult Basic Education, English Language Learning, secondary credential attainment, college preparation, life skills, transfer, and/or reentry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Tutor and assist students in their daily educational needs.
- Proctor testing to offenders and provide support to the Education Unit as needed.
- Provide departmental administrative support.
- Assist Special Teachers in preparation for testing, teaching activities and recordkeeping and manage special projects for the Education Unit.
- This position is located at a Minnesota Correctional Facility and will have direct offender contact.
Adult Basic Education Teacher
This Special Teacher position provides literacy, English Language Learning, secondary credential, post-secondary preparation, and/or other adult basic education (ABE) instruction in a well-managed and comprehensive instructional environment to support offender Personal Education Plans.
This position is located in a correctional facility and has direct contact with offenders.
Compensation for the successful candidate will be commensurate with the level of education attained and number of years of prior teaching experience approved at the time of hire.
