Elementary Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical
Position Summary:
The Teacher is a stand-alone classification. Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs within District curriculum guidelines, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal. Continuous oversight is exercised over paraprofessionals.
Qualifications:
A valid Special Education (Cross Categorical) teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge of the specific special education category for which licensed
Knowledge of special education teaching philosophy.
Knowledge of the special education curriculum for area(s) the teacher is responsible for instructing.
