Adult Basic Education Teacher

This Special Teacher position provides literacy, English Language Learning, secondary credential, post-secondary preparation, and/or other adult basic education (ABE) instruction in a well-managed and comprehensive instructional environment to support offender Personal Education Plans.

This position is located in a correctional facility and has direct contact with offenders.

Compensation for the successful candidate will be commensurate with the level of education attained and number of years of prior teaching experience approved at the time of hire.

English/Language Arts Teacher

Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative teacher who is willing to utilize innovative teaching strategies to prepare students for college and careers.  Candidate must be willing to work with teams of teachers, be an excellent communicator, be highly organized, successful in building and maintaining strong relationships with all students, and data driven.  Courses to be taught may include any of the following: English 10, Literature, and Composition.

Health Science Careers Teacher (1.0 FTES) – Secondary Sites

Health Science Careers Teacher –  (Full-time, 1.00 FTEs)

Mankato Area Public Schools has a full-time (1.00 FTEs) position available as a Health Science Careers Teacher beginning with the 2019-20 school year.

Summary of duties: Teaching includes Intro to Health Occupations, Disease & Disorder, Nursing Assistant and Emergency Care.  Teacher will deliver instruction to senior high students that is designed to develop students’ understanding of health care systems, medical communication, ethics, and safety issues for patients and providers.

Qualifications:  Medical Careers license, or willingness to obtain.  Prefer candidates with background in health related field.  CPR and First Aid Trainer certification, or willingness to obtain, also required.
