Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking a principal for the Area Learning Center beginning with the 2019-20 school year.  MN Licensure as a K-12 or Secondary Principal is required.  The Area Learning Center includes Central Freedom School and Central Middle and High Schools.

Special Education Teacher – Secondary

Position Summary:
The Teacher is a stand-alone classification.  Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs within District curriculum guidelines, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal.  Continuous oversight is exercised over paraprofessionals.

This position will be part of the traditional Family and Consumer Science (FACS) department.  Typical courses may include: Foods 1 and 2 and Life on Your Own.  Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with students, be on the cutting edge of strong instructional strategies, and a team player.  Looking for a teacher who is willing to learn new strategies and strong in technology.
