2018-19 Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Minnesota State University, Mankato

 

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Social Studies.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2018, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  until filled.

Teaching Fellow positions are available in the following Professional Development School (PDS) participating districts:

  • Social Studies (World History and Economics*), Centennial Public Schools, Circle Pines, MN

Intervention (Reading/Mathematics) Teachers – part-time

Intervention (Reading and Mathematics) Teachers (part-time)
Elementary School Sites

Positions are available for part-time (.65 to .80 FTEs) Reading/Mathematics Intervention Teachers for the 2018-19 school year. Teacher will be responsible for implementing intervention programs with students working on specific, targeted literacy skills.  Important to this position will be the ongoing assessment of students who are receiving the additional literacy intervention as well as continuous collaboration with classroom teachers, special education staff, EL and the Literacy Coordinator.  A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required; K-12 reading license preferred.

The Assistant Activities Secretary performs intermediate skilled administrative work preparing and maintaining activity related records, assisting the Activities Secretary, assisting students, parents and coaches and advisors and community members and related work as apparent or assigned.

Position Requirements:
Associates/Technical degree preferred.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Computer experience required.  Clerical experience preferred.

Remain calm in stressful situations.  Work effectively with students and staff.  Maintain the confidentiality of all student records and information.

Hours/Schedule:
5 days per week / 5.5 hours per day / 10:00am – 4:00pm / 42 WeeksPay Rate:

Youth Programs Supervisor

The Youth Program Supervisoris responsible for day-to-day implementation and management of Community Education Youth Development, Youth Service and School Age Care (SAC) programming. The Program Supervisor will provide leadership in developing targeted programming to meet the developmental needs of Elementary youth in the areas of enrichment, leadership, service learning, and School Age Care (school year and summer). The program supervisor also proposes programming that addresses other youth needs as identified through continuous improvement processes. Youth Programs are designed for all children, preschool through Grade 5 and their parents/guardians. Additionally, this position works occasionally with the OMS Activities Coordinator and the OHS Activities Director in supporting activities for students in grades 6 through age 21. The Youth Program Supervisor serves as a member of the Community Education Leadership Team and is the representative Community Education leader with strategic community partners that share a common mission of service for school age youth and their families. Primary responsibilities include program and personnel development and evaluation in assigned program areas.
