Elementary School Counselor

Eagle Lake Elementary

There is a full-time (1.00 FTEs) Elementary School Counselor position available at Eagle Lake Elementary School for the 2024-25 school year.

Summary of Duties:

Mankato Area Public Schools currently has an opening for a licensed school counselor at Eagle Lake Elementary. School Counselors serve a vital role in supporting the whole child. We are seeking candidates that support inclusive, equitable, and safe learning environments. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Listening to students’ concerns about academic, emotional, or social concerns
  • Leading monthly SEL classroom lessons
  • Helping students process problems and plan goals and actions related to student support
  • Mediate conflict between students and teachers
  • Improve parent/teacher relationships
  • Facilitate Rising Scholar enrichment groups for students
  • Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources
  • Work on academic boards to improve learning conditions
  • Collaborate with school social workers and school psychologists in support of student needs (SEL, Attendance, Resources, Assessments, etc.)
  • Coordinate and support 504 development and implementation

Qualifications Required:  
MN licensure in School Counseling

High School Assistant Principal

New Ulm High School is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual for the position of High School Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will work with the building principal to ensure optimal educational achievement, work with staff on managing student behavior, and staff development, manage after-school programs, work with special education staff and students, Student development/behavior, work with parents and the community to meet building and district goals and create an excellent working and learning environment.  This position requires late afternoon/evening duties to administer middle school programs.

Desired Qualifications:

•       Minnesota K-12 Principal License
•       Five years of successful teaching and other leadership positions
•       Prior administrative experience preferred but not required
•       Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the area of educational leadership, school law, integration of technology with instruction, school improvement strategies and current instructional practices
•       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•       Strong team builder and collaborative leader
•       Able to build positive relationships with the community

Mankato Area Adult Basic Education is seeking a part-time ESL Teacher to join our team beginning September 9, 2024.  This position is 4 hours per day, Monday through Thursday (8:30 am – 11:30 am and 12-1 pm).

Qualifications Required: 

  • Holds a valid Minnesota teaching license in any area K-12 OR holds a Masters degree in TESOL or Linguistics
  • Ability to differentiate instruction according to varied learning styles and educational levels
  • Experience and competency with the use of technology in the classroom (Google Classroom, Google Sites, Google Meets, Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive)
  • Experience and/or willingness to learn new teaching modalities:  HyFlex and online learning
  • Knowledge of student-centered learning practices
  • Experience working with students of varied ages, levels, and cultural backgrounds
  • Values diversity and is equity-minded (committed to and believes in MAPS core values)
  • Friendly, professional, and committed to creating a welcoming environment
  • Experience and commitment to working as a team
  • Must pass background study as required by MN school districts

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Experience working in Adult Literacy education, teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) and CCRS standards.
