HEAD COACH – GIRLS’ TENNIS

Job Description/Duties: 

The Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the assigned activity, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment and events, physical fitness and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level. Job responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Prepare successful practice and performance plans while encouraging student participation, establishing team rapport and motivating participants to achieve maximum potential.
  • Be an example of sportsmanship.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of all equipment including uniforms.
  • Supervise all areas of participation including but not limited to: gyms, fields, locker rooms, buses, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, Activities Director, families, and community resources.
  • Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations of the MSHSL.
  • Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies in addition to completion of mandatory training including but not limited to Blood Borne Pathogen and Mandatory Reporting.

School Counselor (High School – Grades 9-12) – 1.0 FTE

School Counselor (High School; 1.0 FTE)

Job Summary/Tasks:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

1.  Determines procedures for maintaining student records and access to student records.

2.  Counsels students in educational and career planning, including

  • Reviewing and interpreting test data, regarding abilities, interests, and achievements to suggest career alternatives.
  • Group presentations to classes on curriculum offered.
  • Individual orientations for new students to assist in scheduling courses.
  • Coordinating conferences with parents regarding information on curriculum.

3.  Reviews student problems with teachers such as absences, behavior, and grades, interviews students, and determines the corrective action as needed.

4. Initiates, conducts, and monitors conferences with parents, teachers, administrators, and students to promote a better understanding of student’s actions or needs.

5.  Provides internal and external testing services, administers tests, interprets results, and recommends appropriate tests according to student’s interests and abilities.

6. Tracks and records Graduation Standards.

7.   Provides small group and individual counseling sessions.

8.   Deals with personal issues and crises of students and staff.

9.   A mandated reporter.

10.  Attends IEP staffing, county/area child meetings, and professional conferences.

Franklin Elementary School has a position available for a full-time (1.00 FTEs) Reading/Mathematics Intervention Teacher for the 2018-19 school year. Teacher will be responsible for implementing intervention programs with students working on specific, targeted literacy skills.  Important to this position will be the ongoing assessment of students who are receiving the additional literacy intervention as well as continuous collaboration with classroom teachers, special education staff, EL and the Literacy Coordinator.  A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required; K-12 reading license preferred.
