ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION Mankato Area Public Schools has a position available for an Assistant Director of Special Education beginning as soon as possible. This is a full-time, 12-month position. See attached job description. Summary of Duties: Assist in providing leadership in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the District’s special education programs and services. Supervision of specific programs within the school district including the Level IV Program. Serve as the site supervisor in locations where there in not an onsite principal. Evaluate the performance of licensed and non-licensed personnel. In the absence of or when directed by the Director of Special Education and Student Issues, assumes the special education director role and responsibilities. Qualifications Required: – A Masters degree in Special Education Instruction or related special education field. – A valid Minnesota Director of Special Education license – Minimum of three (3) years of teaching or supervisory experience – Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
