DIRECTOR OF FOOD SERVICES Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking a progressive and collaborative-minded professional for the position of Food Services. District 77 is located in South Central Minnesota serving 8,386 students with over 1,300 full-time staff. Please see the complete job description attached. Application deadline: August 11, 2017 Start Date: October 1, 2017 Position Purpose: The Director of Food Services is responsible for leading the overall development, planning, operations and personnel of the district’s school nutrition services. Duties include: overseeing nutritional activities; menu planning; food production; purchasing and bidding; budget development and monitoring; and human resource management for the department to promote healthy food habits for children. Preferred Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in food service administration or related field. *Knowledge of and/or experience in school food service leadership including school food service finance, staff supervision, projects, and operations. *Experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of nutrition education programs *Ability to keep informed of and comply with federal, state, and district regulation and policies concerning school business affairs. *Ability to maintain financial records and fiscal accountability and knowledge of current trends *Experience in coordinating programs and education to ensure appropriate safety and sanitation standards are achieved *Excellent communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor and the general public *Ability to supervise, delegate responsibilities, train staff, establish accountabilities and evaluate personnel *Skilled in problem solving Other Information: 52 week position with competitive salary and benefits.
