Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Birth-2

River Bend Education District has an opening for two Early Childhood Special Education Teachers beginning July 1, 2017. The ECSE B-2 Teacher provides early intervention services for children with special needs and their families within their natural environment. Includes providing face-to-face and consultative services to children, ages birth through two, and their families as outlined in their Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Screen and evaluate infants and toddlers referred to the program for possible ECSE services. Works cooperatively with special education support personnel, families and other service providers.

Intervene in situations where behavioral and social barriers interfere with a student’s ability to attain his/her educational potential. Collaboration with school personnel and community agencies, identify and develop resources with the school system and/or the community for all students in the River Bend schools. Provide consultation to school personnel about home and community conditions affecting student welfare. Evaluate communications skills, plan and implement program services which assist identified students in improving those skills by following district, state, and federal guidelines.
