JOB ID: 4197 – 1.0 FTE Licensed School Psychologist – Full-Time position at the High School beginning 8/22/2024.
Scheduled Hours/days: 8.0 hours/day M-F.
Duties: Northfield Public Schools is seeking qualified School Psychologists at the high school level(Grade 9 to Grade 12) in Northfield, MN as follows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations of students (Grade 9 to Grade 12) referred for potential special education services.
2. Administer, score, analyze, and interpret intellectual, academic, social/emotional/behavioral, and other psychometric assessments.
3. Interview parents, teachers, and others to gather relevant data regarding student performance.
4. Integrate all elements of assessment data into a cohesive whole for the purpose of resolving initial referral question(s) and determining eligibility for special education.
5. Consult with teachers, school administration, parents, and others, as appropriate, regarding the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual and group interventions designed to address students’ learning and behavioral problems.
6. Manage the schedule of reevaluations and collaborate with special education teachers to initiate that process.
7. Provide technical assistance to school staff and parents regarding behavior management, child development, and special education procedures, as necessary and appropriate.
8. Function as a member of the building-level special education team in providing special education services to students with disabilities.
9. Lead the building Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTTSS) team and participate in the district Social Emotional Learning team.
10. Function as a member of the building-level Student Support Team for the purpose of reviewing referrals and determining appropriate actions.
11. Provide direct and indirect services specified within students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
12. Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as apparent or assigned.
