Summary of Duties:
Provides special education instruction for students that includes the development of physical fitness, motor fitness, fundamental motor skills and patterns, dance, individual and group games, and sports. Developmental Adapted Physical Education is specifically designed for physical education instruction and services for pupils with disabilities who have a substantial delay or disorder in physical development.

Qualifications Required:
MN licensure in Special Education

Qualifications Preferred:
MN licensure in K-12 Physical Education/Developmental Adaptive Physical Education

School Social Worker – Early Learning

A full-time (1.00 FTEs) position as a Licensed School Social Worker is available beginning March 18, 2024.

Responsibilities:
Maintain effective communication with County Social Services Agencies with focus on students with IEPs and regular education students experiencing social and emotional issues. Network and consult with community professionals who may provide potential services to students and their families. Address school attendance issues. Provide assistance to special education staff to ensure the delivery of services to students and their families.  Assist with enrollment and resources for homeless students.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions.
Knowledge of group and individual counseling/SEL techniques with children and/or youth.
Knowledge of community resources and social services.
Knowledge of the diagnosis and response of mental health concerns.
Ability to provide competent social work services, crisis intervention, and referral services to students and other persons of diverse cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to conduct formal and informal assessments consistent with school-based practice.
Ability to work efficiently, effectively and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams.
Required:
MN licensure as a School Social Worker is required.

Assistant Principal / Special Education Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director/Principal, the Assistant Principal for Intermediate School District 917’s Special Education programs assists with the administrative duties of school operations, providing leadership, supervision and implementation of district policies, curriculum, instructional programs, and staff performance.
