Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education). Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Heath/PE OR Family Consumer Science.
Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2023, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply. English Language Learner Teacher
Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team. Position follows a traditional English Language Learning classroom model with potential for co-teaching in core content. This position works closely with multilingual students, bilingual success coaches, core content teachers, counselors, and district wide EL department in effort to provide equitable access to both core content credit while developing English Language proficiency. This position involves working with multilingual learners at the high school (0.5 FTE) and multilingual learners at the Alternative Learning Center (0.1 FTE).
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in-depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE TEACHER

The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates, and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The teacher interprets student progress and communicates regularly with parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.
General Responsibilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for discipline and a desire to work with students of all levels and abilities. A variety of elective courses will be taught centering on child development, cooking, sewing, and interior design. An engaging instructor will have the discretion to tailor classes to inspire broader participation in the FACs courses as an elective department.
