Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team. Position follows a traditional English Language Learning classroom model with potential for co-teaching in core content. This position works closely with multilingual students, bilingual success coaches, core content teachers, counselors, and district wide EL department in effort to provide equitable access to both core content credit while developing English Language proficiency. This position involves working with multilingual learners at the high school (0.5 FTE) and multilingual learners at the Alternative Learning Center (0.1 FTE).
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in-depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE TEACHER

The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.
General Responsibilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for discipline and a desire to work with students of all levels and abilities. A variety of elective courses will be taught centering on child development, cooking, sewing, and interior design. An engaging instructor will have the discretion to tailor classes to inspire broader participation in the FACs courses as an elective department.

Middle School Guidance Counselor or School Social Worker
Position Summary:
The Counselor or School Social Worker shall be an integral part of the total instructional program directed toward the growth and development of all students who come from diverse, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. Assist students with personal goal setting, family systems/change and crisis intervention. The Counselor/school Social Worker shall also strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which students are encouraged and assisted to develop feelings of acceptance, self-respect, emotional security, and achievement. OMS counselors are also responsible for generating and updating 504 plans for the students they serve while School Social Workers help meet IEP goals for students receiving special education services.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Guidance & Counseling or School Counselor licensure. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in School Guidance Counseling, or related field and moderate experience. Master’s degree and MN School Social Work license required.
Special Education Teacher – High School (1.0 FTE)
Job Summary:
The certified SpEd teacher works with parents and regular education teachers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs designed to support the growth of special education students. The teacher also develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates, and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The special education teacher interprets student progress and routinely communicates with parents and the IEP team to share student progress toward their goals, as well as strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs.
