JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for developing lesson plans to present district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects; delivering and instructing students in lesson plans and instructional material; and evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives. Incumbents also participate and collaborate with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives, curriculum, and building issues.

Conducts Classroom Instruction

Participates in Professional responsibilities

 

Qualifications:

BA or BS degree

Appropriate certification by the State of Minnesota

Middle School Science licensure required

 

New Prague Middle School is a progressive 6-8 middle school that incorporates the house model.  This position requires a team player as he/she will be working collaboratively with staff members in other content areas.  Enthusiastic applicants are expected to be life-long learners in a student-focused environment.

Elementary English Language Learner Teacher Long Term Substitute

Position Summary:
The Washington/McKinley English Language LTS Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners.  Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students.  Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning.  Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment.  Position begins August 2023. Position follows a co-teaching/pull-out model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Occupational Therapist

Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist provides services to children with special needs, designing and implementing appropriate therapies, and preparing and maintaining appropriate records to benefit the educational setting. The Occuational Therapist is an integral member of special and general education teams, providing consultation regarding interventions for students with fine motor and sensory needs.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field, and experience working in pediatric support in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  National Board of Health Occupational Therapy Certification and MN Department of Health Occupational Therapy License Required.

Chemical Health Counselor

Mankato Area Public Schools has a full-time, (1.00 FTEs) position as a Chemical Health Counselor available beginning with the 2023-24 school year.

Job Summary:
Works with the building administration and the counseling office to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral health of students who demonstrate areas of need or exposure to chemical use or dependency.  Through individual and group counseling services and outside services and supports, develops alternative solutions to support informed decision-making in order for student learning to continue in a safe educational environment.

Qualifications:  BA or BS in related field
Completion of approved chemical dependency training program including LADC certification preferred
Valid Minnesota driver’s license
Prior experience preferred
