Literacy Media Specialist

Position Summary:
The District Literacy Media Specialist provides leadership and guidance in promoting, supporting, and encouraging literacy, coordinating the resources and services of instructional media centers at schools district-wide, and assisting administrators, faculty, and students in the utilization of resources to enhance instruction and improve student achievement.

Position Requirements:
Valid Minnesota teaching licensure, reading licensure required, and certification as Librarian and or Library/Media Specialist preferred.

FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE TEACHER

Job Summary:
The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates, and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The teacher interprets student progress and communicates regularly with parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.

General Responsibilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for discipline and a desire to work with students of all levels and abilities.  A variety of elective courses will be taught centering on child development, cooking, sewing, and interior design.  An engaging instructor will have the discretion to tailor classes to inspire broader participation in the FACs courses as an elective department.

K-5 Elementary Art Teacher (SY 2023-24)

McKinley Art Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners. -Demonstrated use of research-based instructional & engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.

-Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and students to achieve student learning results.

-Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Graduate Teaching Fellowship, Instrumental Music

2023-24 Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Minnesota State University, Mankato

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Social Studies.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2023, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  March 28, 2023, or until filled.

High School Spanish Teacher

Description:
The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, and evaluates and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The teacher interprets student progress and communicates regularly with parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.

The Spanish teacher’s responsibilities include teaching oral and written Spanish, tailoring lesson plans to individual students or classes, and setting homework and assessments. You should be able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities including administrative tasks.

To be successful as a Spanish teacher, you should be passionate about the Spanish language and culture. Outstanding Spanish teachers are energetic and able to inspire passion for the language in their students.

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants are required to possess a current MN Teaching License in Spanish.

Start Date:
2023 – 2024 School Year (August 2023)

Wage/Benefits:
Dependent on experience, per Master Teacher Agreement; benefit package available.

Job Description:
The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, and evaluates and assesses instructional material and student performance. The teacher meets with parents, interprets student progress, and informs parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs.

The successful candidate will carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract, maintains high-quality communication and cooperation with stakeholders, and believes that all students can attain high levels of learning. Demonstrates continued professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development. Must have a working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students’ learning styles and needs, both academic and practical. Possesses the knowledge and skills to build compelling educational experiences that benefit all students. Takes responsibility for the learning of our students and their performance.

Salary:
Per Teacher Master Agreement

Qualifications:
Current MN Teacher license in Kindergarten Education.
