A position is available for a part-time (0.40 FTEs) K-5 Elementary Music Teacher at Mankato Area Public Schools beginning August 21, 2023, for the 2023-24 school year.

Summary of Duties:
Mankato Area Public Schools seeks an inspiring elementary music teacher who is responsible for teaching general music to students in grades K-5 and assists the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of music instruction. Candidates should help students grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences which include singing, moving to music, playing of instruments and listening along with performing other duties directly related to this job description. This position does require travel between Mankato Area School locations to provide general music instruction.

Math Intervention Teacher

Position Summary:  
Owatonna Public Schools provides big-school opportunities in a right-sized setting to ensure opportunities for all students are realized in the classroom and in life.  We are a close-knit community of educators with high expectations for our schools and its students.  A Math Interventionist is responsible for planning and implementing  intervention strategies to support the whole child. The position is responsible for collaborating closely with the building administrator, educators, support staff, families and students. This includes direct instruction and intervention in and out of the classroom, as well as supporting other educators implementing math interventions in the buliding.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and current state teaching certificate in elementary education. Master’s in Education is preferred.

Administrative Assistant

The Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1920. We are located in St. Peter, Minnesota. MSBA prides itself as being a “Go-To” education association by providing workshops, resources, services, and connections designed to help school boards save time, reduce expenses, govern efficiently, and stay inspired.

Position

MSBA is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the Board Development Team. This position has a hybrid working model; it requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Primary Responsibilities

The Board Development Administrative Assistant will:

  • Assist with planning and promoting MSBA programs and events.
  • Maintain MSBA calendar of programs and events.
  • Design and prepare general correspondence, memos, and materials. Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout; responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
  • Provide operational and administrative support and responsive customer service to member inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and to collaborate with others as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofing, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard computer software and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and related programs).
  • Experience using social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) including planning content in a business setting is desirable.

School Social Worker

Position Summary:  
The School Social Worker promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning.  The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a health, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies.  The School Social Worker will be a part of each school’s student assistance team.

Position Requirements:
Master’s degree and licensure as a School Social Worker.  Experience and training in group and individual counseling with school-age population.  Working knowledge in areas of child abuse and neglect.  Sensitivity to students in need and the ability to communicate effectively with students, adults and community agencies.  Preferred county-wide knowledge of community resources.
