4th Grade Teacher

Position Summary:
The McKinley 4th Grade Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners.  Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students.  Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning.  Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment.  Position begins August 2023.

Qualifications:

-Valid MN Elementary Teaching license.

-Student-Centered

-Commitment and belief around ensuring all students learn at high levels.

-Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.

-Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and students to achieve student learning results.

-Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

English/Language Arts Teacher

We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative teacher who is willing to utilize innovative teaching strategies to prepare students for college and careers.  Candidate must be willing to work with teams of teachers, be an excellent communicator, be highly organized, successful in building and maintaining strong relationships with all students, and data driven.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 7-12 or 9-12 English/Language Arts/Communication Arts teaching license required.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Consistent and reliable attendance.

Graduate Teaching Fellowship, Social Studies

2023-24 Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Social Studies.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2023, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  until filled (applications will be forwarded as they are received).

 

Teaching Fellow positions are available in the following Minnesota Educators Partnership (MEP) districts:

Third Grade Teacher

Position Summary: 
As an Owatonna teacher, you have the opportunity to set the tone for learning for the rest of a student’s life.  When students have a personalized, educational, happy experience during their school years, they are more prepared to take on the challenges of life including college and/or careers.  You are able to teach students to love learning and also how to overcome the challenges and obstacles they face that keep them from reaching their goals. While adhering to the core curriculum required by the state, you are able to find creative, engaging ways to teach students real life application of the concepts they are learning.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Elementary Teaching license. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired. Demonstrated use of 21st Century strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. Positive behavior intervention and supports. Experience in utilizing an inquiry approach to instruction across all content areas and a background in STEM and integration of Literacy and Numeracy beneficial.

Special Education Teacher – Elementary, Grades 1-4 (1.0 FTE)

The certified SpEd teacher works with parents, administration, general education teachers, interventionists as well as the SpEd Team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs designed to support the growth of students with special needs. This educator will also develop lesson plans, provide classroom instruction, conduct evaluations, and assessments, weekly progress monitoring, and prepare all required reports. The special education teacher interprets student progress and routinely communicates with parents, the intervention team, and IEP team. Takes responsibility for the learning of our students and his/her own performance.
