K-5 Elementary Education Teacher (2023-2024 School Year)

Position Summary:
The K-5 Elementary Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners.  Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students.  Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning.  Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment.  Position begins August 2023.

Qualifications:

-Valid MN Elementary Teaching license.

-Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.

-Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, Birth-Age 3 (School Year 2023-2024)

Position Summary:
This position is for a Birth – age 3 ECSE Teacher.  The position performs professional work providing a broad range of consulting, coaching and direct instructional services to children with special needs and their families.  Applicants should demonstrate flexibility in providing professional work in a variety of settings; i.e. homes, daycares, and community-based preschool environments.  The ECSE teacher networks closely with all related services professionals on the Birth-3 team.  The position includes all duties of an ECSE teacher, including special education evaluations and ongoing assessments; training will be provided as needed.

School Psychologist

School psychologists within River Bend Education District are employed for the purpose of enhancing the educational and social emotional development of students. School Psychologists consult with staff members to plan intervention strategies and provide assessment/reassessment evaluation through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices in the areas of intellectual, cognitive, functional, academic, and behavioral domains of child and adolescent development (birth through 22). This position provides the opportunity to work within a psych team allowing for common planning, weekly psych meetings, and support from other school psychologists within the education district.

Industrial Technology Teacher (2023-2024 School Year)

Position Summary:
Owatonna High School is opening a newly constructed high school with state of the art learning spaces for Industrial Technology. We are looking for a teacher to provide instruction to students in grades 9-12 in the area of Industrial Technology Education and work in collaboration with Agriculture teachers to promote our career pathways program connecting students to essential careers in Industrial Technology. Strong background in using data to drive instruction, working in collaboration with department members through a PLC model, and strong content knowledge desired.

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license in Industrial Arts/Technology Education or related field.

Science Teacher

Provide science instruction to 8th grade students. This position may also include teaching Forensics, an elective class for 7th and 8th grade students.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 5-12 science teaching license preferred. Valid MN 5-8 or 7-12 science teaching license also acceptable.

Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:
Provides support to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility for advising administrators/managers/supervisors in HR practices including, but not limited to managing and administering employee related programs, resolving employee relations issues, screening, interviewing and referring candidates for school-level positions, troubleshooting, and user education skills to meet the goals and expectations of the Human Resources Office.  Sets up initial employment records; evaluating certificated and classified employee college transcripts and employment verification for salary placement; preparing and compiling a variety of personnel-related correspondence and reports and providing general support to employees regarding policies, regulations and contract language.  Assist with the development and implementation of new programs, processes, and technology to support the Human Resources Office.

Position Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Four or more years related experience and/or training.  Advanced computer skills, with demonstrated proficiency and specialized experience in database development, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and user experience required.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of Minnesota school specific and general human resources laws, rules, regulations, requirements and guidelines; comprehensive knowledge of personnel practices and procedures including recruitment and selection, wage and salary administration and professional licensure; thorough knowledge of school district organizations, functions, operations and jobs; thorough knowledge of district policies, practices, procedures, handbooks and manuals; thorough skill in the use of personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment; thorough skill using standard accounting software; through skill using standard school employee absences software; thorough skill using standard finance and accounting software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records; ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to prepare and administer personnel policies, practices and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, associates and the general public.  Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as a member of a team in an executive office environment.  Consistent and reliable attendance.
