Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:
Provides support to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility for advising administrators/managers/supervisors in HR practices including, but not limited to managing and administering employee related programs, resolving employee relations issues, screening, interviewing and referring candidates for school-level positions, troubleshooting, and user education skills to meet the goals and expectations of the Human Resources Office.  Sets up initial employment records; evaluating certificated and classified employee college transcripts and employment verification for salary placement; preparing and compiling a variety of personnel-related correspondence and reports and providing general support to employees regarding policies, regulations and contract language.  Assist with the development and implementation of new programs, processes, and technology to support the Human Resources Office.

Position Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Four or more years related experience and/or training.  Advanced computer skills, with demonstrated proficiency and specialized experience in database development, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and user experience required.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of Minnesota school specific and general human resources laws, rules, regulations, requirements and guidelines; comprehensive knowledge of personnel practices and procedures including recruitment and selection, wage and salary administration and professional licensure; thorough knowledge of school district organizations, functions, operations and jobs; thorough knowledge of district policies, practices, procedures, handbooks and manuals; thorough skill in the use of personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment; thorough skill using standard accounting software; through skill using standard school employee absences software; thorough skill using standard finance and accounting software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records; ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to prepare and administer personnel policies, practices and procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, associates and the general public.  Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as a member of a team in an executive office environment.  Consistent and reliable attendance.

School Psychologist

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, the Licensed School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences, problem-solving meetings, designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities, the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.  Working collaboratively with other School Psychologists will develop consistent systems that meet the needs of students.  A School Psychologist should possess excellent communication skills, effective partnership skills and be a solutions-based thinker.

Position Requirements:
Ed.S, in School Psychology or comparable; licensed as a School Psychologist by the MN Board of Teaching.

Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Position Summary:
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist oversees and administers employee benefit plans to ensure timely and accurate enrollments along with changes and terminations to each plan and serves as a resource to district employees regarding their benefit plans. The position prepares reports, payments, and other items related to the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA), Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA), tax-sheltered annuities, health insurance, dental insurance, and other employee benefits and deductions. This position will also be responsible for administering COBRA, maintaining retiree benefits, administering employee leaves of absence, and working with worker’s compensation claims. This position additionally ensures district compliance with Affordable Care Act regulations and deadlines.

Position Requirements:
Post-secondary degree/education and considerable experience in business, accounting, human resources or related field required.  Technology proficiency in Google and data base management.

Science Teacher Long Term Substitute
