Position Summary:

Qualifications:
Valid MN Elementary Teaching license. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired. Demonstrated use of 21st Century strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. Positive behavior intervention and supports. Experience in utilizing an inquiry approach to instruction across all content areas and a background in STEM and integration of Literacy and Numeracy beneficial.

 

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist

A full-time (1.00 FTEs) position as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, or School Counselor is available for the 2022-223 school year.

 

Description: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist

As an SEL interventionist, you will support the development and implementation of a solid SEL program and assist teachers in providing Tier II and Tier III interventions for students who need more intensive levels of support for SEL. This goal will be accomplished by working alongside school staff and serving as a liaison between the school, families, and community organizations.

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, coordinate social-emotional learning (SEL) support for students, as well as SEL professional development for staff working directly with students on your caseload.
Provide individual and group counseling/skill development in the five CASEL areas of SEL.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff.
Assist site staff with the identification of students who need additional (intensive/Tier III) SEL support as it aligns to a student’s IEP.
Ability to provide Tier II and/or Tier III SEL interventions directly or through consultation to other educators and support staff. Consultation and collaboration with others is important in the development or generalization of SEL skills.
Participate in joint planning and case management with community agencies that support students’ SEL abilities.
Conduct staff education on SEL.
Make home visits as necessary.
Maintain professional practice and development, staying current with recent approaches to improving SEL for students, staff, and families.
Gather and track data on student progress.
Work independently, with minimal supervision and guidance, in performing all assigned responsibilities in an efficient and correct manner.
Requirements:

Must hold or be eligible to obtain either a valid school psychologist, school counselor, school social worker, or special education teaching license. Persons who also maintain a teaching license or who have classroom teaching experience are preferred.
Must be able to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control, and confidence
Strong interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
Ability to develop and compile a variety of records and reports
Experience with spreadsheets and assessing data, student data systems.

Qualifications:
MN licensure as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist or School Counselor is required.

Agriculture Teacher

A full-time (1.00 FTE) position as an Agriculture Teacher is available at Mankato West High School beginning August 22, 2022, for the 2022-23 school year.

Summary of Duties:
Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) reintroduced AFNR programming into the district during the 2019-2020 school year. The AFNR department has experienced exponential growth and based on community interest and support, is expected to grow. Courses taught in the AFNR department include Intro to AFNR, Intro to Plant Science, Intro to Animal Science, Intro to Natural Resources, Intro to Ag Mech and Tech, Vet Science, and Plant Production. Mankato AFNR implements all components of the 3-circle model including experiential learning through the SAE project and leadership development through FFA. An extended contract is available if interested and an FFA stipend is included with this position.

MN licensure in Agriculture Education is required.

Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

Position Summary:
This School Readiness Educator position will teach in the Bright Beginnings pre-kindergarten program, in a co-taught model, alongside an Early Childhood Special Education teacher.  The Bright Beginnings preschool program provides a developmentally appropriate environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy and physical/motor development of 4-year-olds.  This position will work with one AM Section (8:15-10:45) and one PM Section (12:15-2:45). Each section meets for 2.5 hours, 5 days per week.  Additional calendar days are devoted to student orientation, staff work days, and professional development.  School Readiness is an inclusive educational setting serving 16 students/section. The successful candidate will work as a team member to create a warm and welcoming environment for children, their families and professional colleagues.

Qualifications:
A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood is required. Training and background in continuous improvement, MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and Cor Advantage preferred.  Curriculum experience also sought include Fountas and Pinnell, Everyday Math, Visual Phonics, Conscience Discipline and SMART. Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels.  Current first aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain.
