Coordinator of Educational Equity and EL Programming

Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Educational Equity and EL Programming  provides leadership and advocacy for programs and services to support students and staff in the area of equity and EL Programming. This position will promote a culture of diversity and inclusion embracing differences as a strategic opportunity towards leading the District’s efforts to build a culture of equality and embodiment for all students, families, employees and the community.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in education.  Valid State of Minnesota EL Teaching License.

Preferred Experience:
Masters Degree in Educational Leadership or like degree.
Valid Minnesota K-12 Administrative licensure or the ability to obtain.
Supervisory and Budgetary Experience.
A minimum of 5 years of EL teaching experience.

Physical Education/Health Teacher

English Language Learner Teacher

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a traditional English Language Learning classroom model with potential for co-teaching in core content.  This postion works closely with multilingual students, bilngual success coaches, core content teachers, couselors, and district wide EL department in effort to provide equitable access to both core content credit while developing English Language proficiency.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.  Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Secondary Dean/Activities Director

This position is located at Martin County West Junior/Senior High School in Sherburn, MN.  This is a 182 day (plus extended days) contracted position with competitive salary and comprehensive benefits defined in the Certified Master Agreement.  The primary responsibilities of this position are promoting positive student relationships, decision-making, and behavior and coordinating the school district’s extra- and co-curricular activities and athletics programming.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the principal in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Administer attendance and disciplinary procedures that align with district policy, Minnesota State High School League rules, and state and federal law and are conducted in collaboration with other school and district staff, law enforcement, and parents.
  • Supervise students on school grounds before and after school, particularly during lunch periods and school-sponsored activities and events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of extra- and co-curricular activities and athletics programs including: hiring, training, and supervising coaches and advisors; managing inventory and budget for equipment, materials, supplies, and uniforms; scheduling and arranging payment of officials; coordinating student participation and monitoring eligibility; working with the Community Education Director to schedule use of facilities; and, serving as the school district representative on applicable committees and boards as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the school principal and/or superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota teaching license
  • 3-5 years of successful teaching experience
  • 1-3 years of successful junior or senior high coaching experience
  • Ability to provide own transportation to different sites in and outside of the school district as needed

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Knowledge of classroom management and student discipline strategies
  • Facilitate difficult conversations with students, staff, and families
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Efficient time management amidst multiple deadlines

Fourth Grade Teacher
