This position is located at Martin County West Junior/Senior High School in Sherburn, MN. This is a 182 day (plus extended days) contracted position with competitive salary and comprehensive benefits defined in the Certified Master Agreement. The primary responsibilities of this position are promoting positive student relationships, decision-making, and behavior and coordinating the school district’s extra- and co-curricular activities and athletics programming.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the principal in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.
- Administer attendance and disciplinary procedures that align with district policy, Minnesota State High School League rules, and state and federal law and are conducted in collaboration with other school and district staff, law enforcement, and parents.
- Supervise students on school grounds before and after school, particularly during lunch periods and school-sponsored activities and events.
- Coordinate all aspects of extra- and co-curricular activities and athletics programs including: hiring, training, and supervising coaches and advisors; managing inventory and budget for equipment, materials, supplies, and uniforms; scheduling and arranging payment of officials; coordinating student participation and monitoring eligibility; working with the Community Education Director to schedule use of facilities; and, serving as the school district representative on applicable committees and boards as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the school principal and/or superintendent.
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota teaching license
- 3-5 years of successful teaching experience
- 1-3 years of successful junior or senior high coaching experience
- Ability to provide own transportation to different sites in and outside of the school district as needed
