Description:                           1.0 Special Education Teacher – Grades 7 – 12

 

Join a large team of special education providers and a special education administrative assistant to facilitate all due process paperwork.

 

Qualifications    The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be licensed in two areas of special education (e.g., EBD and LD) or as an Academic Behavior Strategist (ABS).

 

Candidates with experience in reading instruction or positive behavior management are encouraged to apply.

. reading, writing, and/or math instruction
. continuous progress monitoring

. organizational skills instruction

. IEP writing and conducting evaluations

K-5 Special Education Teacher (2022-2023 School Year)

Position Summary:
Special Education Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners.  Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students.  Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, complete all paperwork and due process for students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and advocate for every student.  Candidate must have a learner & inclusionary mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Special Education Teaching license; dual licensure in elementary education is preferred.  Ideal candidate will have a solid background in best practices, co-teaching, inclusion, and equity. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.  Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain special education files

• Locate and obtain special education records for new students, organize and send special education records for exiting students

• Establish and maintain SPED Forms records & special education staff access

• Manage Weekly CST Agenda

• Attend Bi-Weekly CST

• Manage Due Dates (evaluations and IEPs)

• Manage all Due Process Steps

• Provide monthly special education MARSS status change documents to MARSS operator

• Manage the ordering process for all special education purchases; including: Ordering, receiving and tracking

• Establish and maintain Special Education Inventory

• Manage 3rd Party Billing system

• Manage Tuition Billing process and maintain appropriate records associated with resident agreements

• Manage test inventory and protocol inventory

• Manages required Restrictive Procedures documentation for quarterly oversight committee review

• Manages scheduling and assists with agendas/content for Parent Advisory and Restrictive Procedures Oversight Committee

• Other duties as assigned and/or deemed necessary to achieve the mission, goals, and vision of MN New Country School

Starting Pay – $18.00/hour

Speech Language Pathologist (2022-2023 School Year)

Description:                           Speech/Language Pathologist
.8 – 1.0 FTE

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working in all areas of communication disorders:  fluency, articulation, language (including pragrmatics/social communication targeted for students with ASD) and voice. Experience with students who have AAC needs is optimal.

 

The SLP will work in a large collaborative team of special educators to implement strategies and cross disciplinary service.

 

Qualifications:                       • Licensed as an educational speech/language pathologist through the MN Department of Education (PELSB0

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (or eligible)
• Pediatric or school-based experience
• Experience with special education due process requirements/IEPs and
