Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist provides services to children with special needs, designing and implementing appropriate therapies, and preparing and maintaining appropriate records to benefit the educational setting. The Occuational Therapist is an integral member of special and general education teams, providing consultation regarding interventions for students with fine motor and sensory needs.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field, and experience working in pediatric support in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. National Board of Health Occupational Therapy Certification and MN Department of Health Occupational Therapy License Required.

Middle School Assistant Principal or Dean of Students (2022-2023 School year)
Position Summary:
The assistant principal/dean needs to be a leader who will support the delivery and administration of District educational programs with the initial assignment to a 1,000 6-8 student middle school with wonderful diversity and incredible opportunities for students. Owatonna Middle School uses an innovative A/B Block schedule that includes 40+ elective options for students. The assistant principal’s (or dean’s) responsibilities include assisting teachers in strengthening their knowledge base and core instructional skills; developing a safe and welcoming environment where all individuals are respected and to ensure that such practices support continued outstanding student achievement in a 6-8 setting. The assitant principal/dean must provide leadership to carry out the district’s strategic plan. The assistant principal/dean needs strong technology skills, an understanding of PBIS (Husky Pride), and the ability to make strong relationships with students and staff. The principal must also work with all staff and administrators to instill in our youth the community’s core values.
Desired Education & Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must hold a valid K-12 Minnesota Administrative credential or be enrolled in an Administrative program if the position moves to a Dean of Students; Master’s degree with emphasis in educational leadership, organizational leadership, or curriculum and instruction or comparable is preferred. Must have demonstrated success as a leader in an elementary school.
Proven record of collaborative leadership with a commitment to school improvement initiatives. Strong educational background modeling use of instructional technology. Must demonstrate successful experience in working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds. Evidence of excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing and ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Demonstrated management of fiscal resources. Evidence of commitment to working in a team environment.
