School Psychologist

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, the Licensed School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences, problem-solving meetings, designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities, the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.  Working collaboratively with other School Psychologists will develop consistent systems that meet the needs of students.  A School Psychologist should possess excellent communication skills, effective partnership skills and be a solutions-based thinker.

Position Requirements:
Ed.S, in School Psychology or comparable; licensed as a School Psychologist by the MN Board of Teaching.

Elementary English Language Learner Teacher

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching/pull-out model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License.

High School Choir Teacher

Position Summary:
This position will be at Owatonna Senior High School serving 9-12 grade students in group lessons and 3 separate choral ensembles.  Strong background in working on teams, using data to drive instruction, and solid content knowledge desired.  Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and vision for growing program required.

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license or application pending with MN Department of Education in vocal music and/or classroom music licensure.

Title I Interventionist Elementary Teacher – Part Time

Position Summary:
Provide research-based interventions to students in small groups at St. Mary’s School.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Elementary Teaching license. Demonstrated use of 21st Century strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. Training in Balanced Literacy preferred and researched-based interventions.

Science Teacher

Position Summary:
Provide science instruction to 7th and/or 8th grade students. This position may also include teaching Forensics, an elective class for 7th and 8th grade students.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 5-12 science teaching license preferred. Valid MN 5-8 or 7-12 science teaching license also acceptable.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.

English/Language Arts Teacher

Position Summary:
This position will be part of the traditional Language Arts program and could include Language Arts classes in grades 6-8. Primary responsibilities will likely be 8th grade Language Arts; however, the final schedule is still being developed. Strong background in reading strategies desired. There is a possibility of teaching AVID classes as well.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 5-12 English/Language Arts/Communication Arts teaching license required or Middle School License with Language Arts emphasis.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
