Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Assists in providing occupational therapy services for children aged Birth-21 receiving special education services throughout the school districts of Waseca and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (WEM). Supports the assessment, planning, organization, and execution of educationally based programs that provide students with optimal educational opportunities.
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides student specific occupational therapy services as determined be IEP and IFSP teams.
- Deliver occupational therapy services according to frequency and duration listed on IEP’s and IFSP’s.
- Supports staff to effectively use assistive technology to facilitate student success.
- Assists the OTR in the development of the learner’s IEP goals and objectives.
- Gathers data to document progress on goals and objectives.
- Participate in the IEP and the IFSP process by attending individual student meetings.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
English Language Learner Collaboration Specialist
Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team. Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of Math, Science, Social Studies, or English Langauge Arts. This position will focus on equity and inclusion best practices to continue to grow career pathways for protected class students.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels. A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
Industrial Technology/Agriculture Teacher (2022-2023 School Year)
Position Summary:
Provide instruction to students in grades 9-12 in the area of Industrial Technology/Agriculture Education and work in collaboration with Agriculture teachers to promote our career pathways program connecting students to essential careers in Agriculture and Industrial Technology. Strong background in using data to drive instruction, working in collaboration with department members through a PLC model, and strong content knowledge desired.
Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license in Industrial Arts Technology/Agriculture Education.
Special Education Teacher (School Year 2022-2023)
Position Summary:
Teacher will provide high quality instruction to learners, collaborate with teachers and families, and complete all paperwork and due process for students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Teacher will continue to eliminate barriers to ensure high levels of learning for every learner, every day.
Qualifications:
Valid MN Special Education Teaching license. Candidate will have a solid background in equity, technology, and ensuring all students learn at high levels. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Mankato Area Public Schools has an Early Childhood Teacher position available within the Early Learning Department. This is a lead classroom teacher position within our ECFE program. This position includes the opportunity for daytime and evening hours for the 2022-23 school year.
