Elementary School Principal

Position Summary:
The principal needs to be a leader who will support the delivery and administration of District educational programs with the initial assignment to a 500 K-5 student elementary school with wonderful diversity.  The principal’s responsibilities include assisting teachers in strengthening their knowledge base and core instructional skills; developing a safe and welcoming environment where all individuals are respected and to ensure that such practices support continued outstanding student achievement in a K-5 setting. The principal must provide leadership to carry out the district’s strategic plan.  The principal must encourage parent involvement.  The principal must also work with all staff and administrators to instill in our youth the community’s core values.

Desired Education & Qualifications:
A qualified candidate must hold a valid K-12 Minnesota Administrative credential; Master’s degree with emphasis in educational leadership, organizational leadership, or curriculum and instruction or comparable is preferred.  Must have demonstrated success as a leader in an elementary school.Proven record of collaborative leadership with a commitment to school improvement initiatives.  Strong educational background modeling use of instructional technology.  Must demonstrate successful experience in working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds.  Evidence of excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing and ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.  Demonstrated management of fiscal resources.  Evidence of commitment to working in a team environment.
