English Language Learner Teacher (School year 2022-2023)

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Position Summary

MASE is currently seeking an Executive Director to be the face of the organization, responsible for supporting the implementation of its strategic plan. In this role, you will lead the organization toward the realization of its mission of building strong leaders who work on behalf of students with disabilities. To succeed in this position, you will be dedicated, hardworking, and a true team player, with a passion for students with disabilities and a deep belief in continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

The MASE Executive Director will promote member engagement, provide direct support and assistance to members, engage in legislative advocacy, develop strong partnerships with businesses and education organizations/agencies, and serve a prominent role in both internal and external communications on behalf of the organization.

Position Details

Start Date:  July 1, 2022
Contract: The Executive Director serves as an independent contractor to the Association. Hours will ebb and flow over the course of the year based on opportunities to carry out the responsibilities of the position, averaging approximately 1000 per year.

K-5 Elementary Education Teacher (2022-2023 School Year)

Secondary Special Education EBD Teacher (2022-2023 School Year)

 Position Summary:
This Special Education Teacher position is part of Owatonna Public School’s Discovery program. Discovery classrooms provide trauma-responsive specialized programming and instruction for students who require support with dysregulation and displays that impact learning. Discovery teachers work closely within a team structure which includes paraprofessionals, behavior interventionists, school social workers, related service providers, and administration. Students also access general education courses as appropriate to their educational plan; the Discovery teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

All members of the Discovery program are highly trained and supported; they utilize Life Space Crisis Intervention strategies and track individual student data through the Performance Tracking System. Weekly team meetings and joint planning provide clarity and consistency for both staff and students.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Special Education Teaching – EBD or ABS licensure required.  Experience with Setting III specialized programming for students struggling with behavior and dysregulation preferred.  Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
