Speech Language Pathologist

Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist performs professional work assessing and delivering instructional and clinical services to individual and small groups of students with speech and language impairments, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in speech language pathology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Minnesota licensure in speech language pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competency preferred.

Supervisor of School Health Services

Position Summary:
The Supervisor of School Health Services works to identify, remove and remediate health related barriers to learning and to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. The Supervisor will plan, supervise, evaluate, and coordinate school health personnel (LPNs, RPNs and other health care professionals) and services provided for the special health needs of students at all grade levels.  Provide, maintain, and monitor a district-wide system of first aid, emergency care, medication administration, and health related procedures. Organize and lead district employee wellness efforts.

Position Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, emergency or pediatric nursing, valid Minnesota Registered Nurse license, and Minnesota licensure as a school nurse is required. Special requirements include CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Bloodborne Pathogen training, Hearing and Vision Screening training, Scoliosis Screening training and Medication Administration Training upon hire.

Secondary Special Education EBD Teacher

Position Summary:
This Special Education Teacher position is part of Owatonna High School’s Discovery program. Discovery classrooms provide trauma-responsive specialized programming and instruction for students who require support with dysregulation and displays that impact learning. Discovery teachers work closely within a team structure which includes paraprofessionals, behavior interventionists, school social workers, related service providers, and administration. Students also access general education courses as appropriate to their educational plan; the Discovery teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

All members of the Discovery program are highly trained and supported; they utilize Life Space Crisis Intervention strategies and track individual student data through the Performance Tracking System. Weekly team meetings and joint planning provide clarity and consistency for both staff and students.

First Grade Teacher

Communications Specialist (Part Time)

This half-time communications specialist will develop, implement and regularly evaluate the District’s internal and external communications strategies, marketing and public relations efforts, ensuring that communication is cohesive, consistent and effective in supporting the District’s mission. This person maintains two-way communication with stakeholders using a wide range of communication tools in order to promote a positive District reputation and image, and advises the Superintendent, School Board and District administrators on matters affecting community relations. The ideal candidate will be a team player who provides both strategic and tactical communications expertise and is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. Weekly schedules may vary and be flexible depending on both the needs of the district and of the communications specialist.
