Interim- Elementary Principal

The Le Sueur-Henderson School District is committed to a unified focus on learning that inspires individual student achievement and is seeking a highly motivated leader to serve as an administrator of Elementary Schools. This anticipated position offers a unique opportunity to lead the Elementary Schools.  Other supervisory/administrative responsibilities may be assigned.

Essential job functions include:

  • Supervise all professional, paraprofessional, administrative and non-professional personnel assigned to the school or possibly other areas in the district.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate teachers and professional staff.
  • Administer collective bargaining contracts of teachers, custodians, secretaries, and paraprofessionals at the site level.
  • Implement and observe School Board policies.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for student achievement.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according to due process.

English Language Learner 4th & 5th Grade Teacher Long Term Substitute

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

5th Grade Teacher

To serve as a collaborative team member on a 5th grade team.  Educator will ensure high levels of learning for every learner, every day.

Qualifications:
-Valid MN Elementary Teaching license.
-Commitment and belief around ensuring all students learn at high levels.
-Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs.
-Ability to use data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.
-Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and students to achieve student learning results.

Choir Director

Position Summary:
This position will be at Owatonna Senior High School serving 9-12 grade students in group lessons and 3 separate choral ensembles.  Strong background in working on teams, using data to drive instruction, and solid content knowledge desired.  Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and vision for growing program required.

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license or application pending with MN Department of Education in vocal music and/or classroom music licensure.

Position:

Associate Director of Strategic Governance

Description:

The Associate Director of Strategic Governance will work with the Director of Leadership Development and Executive Search and the Director of Strategic Planning & Board Leadership to:

  • Facilitate the strategic planning process for school districts.
  • Facilitate executive search services for school districts.
  • Help school districts in the areas of executive search, superintendent evaluation, board/superintendent relations, and strategic planning.
  • Support services and programs in the areas of school board/superintendent relations and school board governance.
  • Present at conferences, workshops, and in-district meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation, project management, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and virtual meeting platforms and survey software.
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, public education and/or Minnesota employment-related laws is desirable.

Location and Hours:

This is a full-time position, which requires evening and occasional weekend hours.  The work is conducted in-district, remotely, and in MSBA’s office located in St. Peter, MN.

Salary and Benefits:

$60,000 and up, dependent on qualifications, plus a generous benefits package.
