K-5 Owatonna Online Teacher

Position Summary:
Ensure high levels of student learning through engaging, high quality virtual teaching.  Educator is innovative and serves as a facilitator to students’ learning.  Educator will collaborate with colleagues, families, and all stakeholders to help design a K-5 virtual school.  Educator is able to build strong partnerships with adults supporting student learning, and responsive to student needs academically, socially, and emotionally. Educator will be a learner, problem solver, and engage in on-site professional development.

 Qualifications:
Valid K-5 MN Teaching license is required.  An Ideal candidate will have a solid background in equity, technology, and ensuring all students learn at high levels. Experience in literacy and utilizing an integrated approach to instruction across all content areas and a background in STEAM and Everyday Math beneficial.  Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.   Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.  This position may be working with secondary students as well.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Consistent and reliable attendance.

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Education, certificate and/or experience in the area of reading intervention education preferred, or related field and moderate experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Minnesota Teaching License. Valid ELL/EL/ESL Minnesota Teaching License. Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong demonstrated use of 21st Century learning strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in depth understanding and application of language acquisition and WIDA Standards.

Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.

Elementary Teacher – Fourth Grade

School Counselor – Middle School

Position Summary:
The Counselor shall be an integral part of the total instructional program directed toward the growth and development of all students who come from diverse, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.  Assist students with personal goal setting, family systems/change and crisis intervention.  The Counselor shall also strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which students are encouraged and assisted to develop feelings of acceptance, self-respect, emotional security, and achievement. OMS counselors are also responsible for generating and updating 504 plans for the students they serve.

 Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Guidance & Counseling or School Counselor licensure. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in School Guidance Counseling, or related field and moderate experience.  Master’s degree preferred.

Elementary Music Teacher K-5

Provide music instruction to K-5 students in a music classroom setting in shared buildings.

Valid MN Music license, MN K-5 Teaching License, or four year-degree.

1st Grade Teacher Long Term Substitute
