Chemistry Teacher (School Year 2021-2022) – Owatonna Public Schools

Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative teacher who is willing to utilize innovative teaching strategies to prepare students for college and careers.  Candidate must be willing to work with teams of teachers, be an excellent communicator, be highly organized, successful in building and maintaining strong relationships with all students, and data driven.  Provide science instruction to Owatonna High School students in the areas of Chemistry and Physical Science.

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license in the following area:  Physical Sciences (Physics & Chem)  Qualified candidates may have a Chemistry License or a Physical Science-Chemistry license.

Food Service Director

JOB GOAL:
Manages and supervises the overall operations and staff engaged in the production and service of meals, food, and catering services provided by the department in accordance with relevant federal and state guidelines.

JOB RESPOSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for the development of food menus that meet the requirements of the USDA and the national school lunch, breakfast, and summer programs.
  2. Evaluate program participation, meal acceptability and financial operations in an effort to meet the program goals of being a self-supporting operation.
  3. Procure all food and food supply items.  Meet with vendors and recommend the purchase of food service equipment on a long-range basis.  Identify and evaluate the availability of USDA commodities.
  4. Assign, monitor, and train food service staff to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and food service standard of the department.  Evaluate and conduct formal evaluations on staff performance.
  5. Counsel, train, and direct kitchen managers with problem solving, personnel issues, and operational issues involved in the coordination of operations at their assigned sites.
  6. Prepare and submit various financial statements, reports and vouchers to state authorities, school board, or other required agencies.
  7. Process free and reduced lunch applications.  Collaborate with applicable departments or positions as necessary.
  8. Prepare and recommend the food service annual budget.  Monitor department revenues and expenditures for all service programs.
  9. Prepare equipment/purchasing specifications for all major purchases per the established policy limits including milk/bread vendor agreements and equipment purchases.
  10. Maintain inventory records for all food service supplies and food items received and used.
  11. Plan site schedules and arrange for substitutes.  May be required to perform kitchen duties if short staff.
  12. Review all extra duty time sheets to ensure proper recording and payment for all of work performed.
  13. Perform other duties as required to provide for an efficient and effective school food service program.

English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher (2021-2022) School Year

Position Summary:
Provide high quality instruction to identified students and serve as a collaborative member of our English Language Learner (EL) Team.  Position follows a co-teaching model, with EL Teacher collaborating with general education classroom teacher, working in collaboration to meet students’ needs in the area of literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.

 

 

Sibley East Superintendent Position

The Sibley East Public School District (Arlington, Gaylord, and Green Isle) is seeking a Superintendent as of July 1, 202l. Candidates must possess licensure as a Superintendent in the State of Minnesota or demonstrate their ability to secure licensure by July 1, 2021. Previous experience as a superintendent is preferred but not required.

Sibley East Public Schools is located 60 miles southwest of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area. The school district serves approximately 1,200 students from Pre-K through grade 12. The students are served in two school sites.

Special Education Teacher (School Year 2021-2022)

Position Summary:
This Special Education teacher position is part of Owatonna Middle School’s educational program. The teacher works within a team structure to provide specialized instruction to students with multicategorical disabilities. The team structure includes general education teachers, other special education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration. The teacher may co-teach within the general education setting or teach individuals or small groups within the special education setting. The teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

Special Education Teacher, (DCD) School Year 2021-2022

Position Summary:
This Special Education teacher position is part of Owatonna High School’s Stride program. Stride classrooms provide specialized instruction to students with multicategorical cognitive delays who require a fuctional curriculum. Stride teachers work closely within a team structure which includes paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administration. Students also access general education courses as appropriate to their educational plan; the Stride teacher plans jointly with the general education teacher to provide the accommodations and modifications necessary in order for the student to access and make progress within the general education curriculum.

Stride teachers are highly relational, yet also possess strong skills in curriculum differentiation based on students’ developmental strengths and challenges. Lessons are individualized and delivered with creativity and enthusiasm in order to maximize student engagement and learning, with the goal of increasing student independence.
