MN New Country School (MNCS) (Kindergarten-12th Grade Public Charter School) – Henderson, MN is located in Sibley County and currently enrolls approximately 220 students.  MN New Country School offers experiential learning in a student led, project-based learning environment.  Learning opportunities at MNCS emphasize exploring the world through project-based learning.

The ideal candidate will join a team of special education teachers, on-site school social workers, a special education administrative assistant to facilitate all due process paperwork, and highly involved related providers such as the school psychologist and occupational therapist

The Special Education teacher needed for this position will be licensed in a at least two areas (LD and EDB) or as an Academic Behavior Specialist and will provide specialized instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities (LD, OHD, ASD, or EBD).  Candidates with a focus on reading instruction are strongly encouraged to apply.

The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

. reading, writing, and/or math instruction

. organizational skills instruction

. use of assistive software and technology

. IEP writing and conducting evaluations

. creating schedules and managing paraprofessionals

Director of Communications

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

A full-time assignment as Director of Communications is available with Mankato Area Public Schools beginning November 30, 2020.  This is a 12-month, non-affiliated position.

This position will provide leadership and direction for all internal & external district-wide communication consistent with a plan that supports and aligns with the district’s strategic plan. Enhance the school district’s image and engage the community to build public support for the school district. Effectively communicate about Mankato Area Public Schools so that staff, parents, and community are well-informed. (see attached job description)

QualificationsHolds a bachelor’s degree and has extensive experience with coursework in Education or Education Administration.  Master’s degree or equivalent educational/technology experience preferred.
Has at least five years of experience in a related field.
Has demonstrated evidence of educational and/or technology leadership.
Has demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community.

English/Language Arts Teacher

Position Summary:
This position is the sole language arts position at the ALC.  The teacher is responsible for teaching English 9, English 10, English 11 and English 12 in a traditional and blended learning environment.  The teacher is also responsible for monitoring the progress of students who choose to pursue their credit through Edgenuity online curriculum.  A strong background in reading strategies is desired.  The applicant should be adept at differentiation of content and instruction in order to include student voice and choice.  A strong sense of equity and the ability to build relationships is essential.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 6-12 English/Language Arts/Communication Arts teaching license required.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Consistent and reliable attendance.
