REACH Program Teacher

Position Summary:
This position serves as the primary teacher of the REACH program that serves selected students in grades 6-8–two sections in each grade.  REACH stands for Responsibility-Education–Academics-Character-Hard Work. Class sizes are small (10-13 per section) and are supported by a full-time School Social Worker. Students work on goal setting in their personal and academic lives as well as personal growth. Their motto is: This is your life we are talking about. Nothing is more important. A background in understanding ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and/or working with students who have experienced trauma or need additional emotional support would be beneficial.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 6-12  teaching license required.
Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
Consistent and reliable attendance.

A position is available for a full-time (1.00 FTE) Reading and/or Mathematics Intervention Teacher at Monroe Elementary School for the 2020-21 school year. Teacher will be responsible for implementing intervention programs with students working on specific, targeted literacy skills.  Important to this position will be the ongoing assessment of students who are receiving the additional literacy intervention as well as continuous collaboration with classroom teachers, special education staff, EL and the Literacy Coordinator.  A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required; K-12 reading license preferred.

Special Services Coordinator – Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC)

Position Summary:
The Special Services Coordinator is responsible to promote the educational development of students with special learning needs; and under the direction of the Director of Special Services to share in the duties and responsibilities of providing leadership to special education programs and services, supervision of instruction, evaluation of special education certified staff and paraprofessionals, special services contracts, and public relations.

Position Requirements:
The Coordinator must possess and demonstrate excellent leadership interpersonal and organizational skills, highly developed written and oral communication skills, successful experience working with individuals and groups, demonstrated ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution, and collaborative approaches with stakeholders. A valid MN Director of Special Education license is required, with a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience; three or more years of teaching experience with special education students/programs preferred.

Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC) is a collaborative initiative of Faribault, Medford, Northfield, and Owatonna public schools committed to implementing specialized programming that meets the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students. Programs are located in Faribault, Minnesota 55021.

Speech Language Pathologist

Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist performs professional work assessing and delivering instructional and clinical services to individual and small groups of students with speech and language impairments, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Minnesota licensure in speech language pathology; Certificate of Clinical Competency preferred.

Other Skills & Abilities:  
Thorough knowledge of speech and language diagnosis and therapy principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of casework methods and procedures; thorough knowledge of local, state and federal resources, programs, procedures, laws, rules and regulations; skill in using computer equipment; ability to conduct interviews, assessments and diagnosis effectively and analyze needs and problems objectively; ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff and administration and the general public.  Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students and staff.  Reliable and consistent attendance.
