Position Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Careers, Technology and Innovation is responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight in the development and implementation of careers programs to meet the needs of the community. The Career, Tech and Innovation position will support our current “Pathways to Success” vision to ensure students have access and support for graduation and post-secondary choice. This position will align a birth-pre-k to adult pathway for students so that each student is supported both academically and socially. We will deepen our focus and implementation around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) at the elementary level which provides students with different levels of thinking and learning. In high school, we would increase our focus on community-based learning, focus on career choice through Naviance and Indicators of Readiness and increase our students’ access to career training and learning through Riverland Community College.
Through our District Goals and Pathways to Success Plan, each student will have an opportunity for support in their learning trajectory. This opportunity reinforces the need for pre-K through post-secondary choice to develop missing skills and support the extensions of inquiry based and experiential learning
