Director of Teaching & Learning

Job Description:   Faribault Public Schools is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Director of Teaching and Learning to begin ASAP or July 1, 2023.  The successful candidate for this cabinet-level position is responsible for developing and engaging faculty in initiating and supporting communities of practice in assessment and student learning. The Director will guide educators on how to effectively build, track, and revise curricular goals, learning outcomes, learning objectives and related assessments that establishes best practices and meets standards.  This Director will be part of a leadership team which supports and encourages community involvement with district goals and building school/community pride. The Director provides robust support to various committees serving as either the chair or contributing member (Technology, Staff Development, Curriculum Advisory).

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,500 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools PreK-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

Essential Functions:   Plans, supervises, directs and initiates recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools concerning integration, technology,  English Learners, Title, assessments, interventions, online learning and gifted and talented goals. Directs, organizes and participates in district curriculum design, review process, instruction improvement and delivery, programs, materials and equipment selection and over all program assessments.  Reviews and interprets testing data and reports results; making recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools and School Board. Oversees and develops instructional budgets; reviews and approves grants and related budgets, maintains district-wide staff development funds, champions district student enrollment goals and processes.  Collaborates with all administrative departments to ensure robust inter-departmental communication, budgeting and protocols. Provides support to building administrators with the evaluation process of licensed staff.

Fourth Grade Teacher 1.0 FTE Long Term Sub

Special Education Teacher 1.0 FTE – Blooming Prairie Public Schools

Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time special education teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. This position provides an opportunity to work with students of varying ages, with a variety of disabilities. The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on a special education specialty area(s) and a Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) issued special education teaching license. The candidate must also have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff, and families.

ISD #756 is a small rural school district in SE MN. We serve approximately 900 students Pre-K – 12. We have seen a gradual increase in the student population over the past several years and are in the middle stage of a building project. We are adding additional classroom space to accommodate our growth along with an auditorium, gym space, flex spacing, and art classrooms, renovating our Ag/Industrial Tech spaces, and completing several long-term facility maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting comprehensive special education evaluations, interpreting results, and working with the team to determine if students meet initial entrance or continuing criteria under any Minnesota state disability category.
2. Developing and implementing annual Individual Education Program (IEP) plans for students to include present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
3. Provide research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives within each student’s IEP plan.
4. Serves as the primary contact for the parent (s), classroom teacher, and other support staff.
5. Effectively and appropriately work with parents, students, staff, and other educational professionals regarding instructional needs, concerns, or challenges of the student and district.
6. Maintain, document, and update due process records in accordance with federal and state laws, rules, and/or regulations.
7. Provides direction and supervision of paraprofessionals as directed.
8. Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans, and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with IEPs.
9. Enhance skills via continuing education and professional development activities.
