POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for assisting in assessing and identifying students with special needs according to Minnesota eligibility criteria. The Special Education Teacher plans for providing input, development and implementation of individualized education programs and instruction in academic and behavioral areas in collaboration with other educational professionals, parents and administrators. Depending upon assignment and license, Special Education Teachers provide specialized instruction in addressing student needs and learning.
ABOUT EASTERN WRIGHT:
The Eastern Wright Program is an intermediate (grades 5-7) combination skills and educational program. It is located in the Wright Technical Center in Buffalo, MN. All youth attending come from surrounding communities and have been identified with emotional and/or behavioral disorders or have significant behavior concerns. The primary goal of the program is to provide social skills and educational support to reduce stress and acquire skills in the emotional, behavioral, social and academic areas and return to the mainstream school as soon as possible. The Eastern-Wright Program and its team members believe that by working together, we will be able to positively influence students in our program.
ABOUT MAWSECO:
MAWSECO is an agency of seven-member school districts (Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Litchfield, Maple Lake and Rockford) that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education. The mission of the Cooperative is to provide quality special education leadership, services, and support to its seven-member school districts’ staff, students and families as well as other agencies/districts that purchase its services. Caledonia Area Public Schools is looking for full-time and part-time child care teachers, assistant teachers, and aides for our new child care center, CAPS Care, opening in August 2022. All positions must be able to pass a criminal background check and complete pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.

Teacher requirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Paraeducator
Position Information:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Paraeducator
- 1.0 FTE
- Location: TBD based on student needs
- Will work under the direction of the licensed school nurse and other licensed staff.
- Be able to perform delegated medical and nursing procedures.
- Will monitor ongoing student health situations and provide feedback.
- Will provide direct nursing care to students to include but not limited to:
- administration of medications;
- performance of necessary first aid duties;
- monitor and report changes in student health conditions, within the school setting to the licensed school nurse.
- Will support instruction/activities in the classroom setting for students whom you are assigned to work with
- Will provide support to LSN and health offices in illness guidance and management per current guidelines, policies, or procedures followed by the district.
- Will consult with LSN in contacting parents/guardians for any health needed management.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN licensure
- Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
